I have a Mark lll Lithgow SMLE and a sporterized Isapore-produced one. SMLEs were used throughout the British Empire with factories in India at Isapore, and Lithgow, Australia, in addition to the Enfield Factory. You have a BSA, which stands for British Small Arms. BSA was a union of the guilds that had made arms in Enfield, near Birmingham from 1850 on. BSA made a bicycle for the army in 1890 and was one of the first to build an engine for the bike. BSA became a major motorcycle manufacturer with the Goldstar 500 single becoming a classic racing machine in the 1950s. Jeff Smith was twice motocross world champion on a BSA 441 in 1964-65., and BSA's were a high competitor on U.S. AMA Flat track racing in 1950, through the early 70s, along with Triumph, whose factory was just down the road from BSA. Your BSA SMLE is hard to find in any condition.
ОтветитьThe magazines are not interchangeable between the No.1 MKIII and the No.4 MKI, II & Jungle carbines.
ОтветитьClassic is good rifle 👍
ОтветитьThe Canadian military technically still used the enfeild.
ОтветитьLong live bolt action rifles. And this man using it
ОтветитьOn the left side of the barrel, by the GR cross, it has v12 or VI 2 marking. Mine has a lot more markings then most ive seen. Anybody know what they mean?
ОтветитьYou go back and tell it it's beautiful right now!! 😂
ОтветитьVideos don’t do justice to how much boom this thing has got. I fired it the day in writing this and holy it was loud
ОтветитьHow much would a genuine WW2 one cost?
ОтветитьHad to shoot 100 rounds with one of these in Derring lines , Brecon , Wales , in the 70's . I had a sore shoulder at the end . I was a cadet at the time so just a young kid and not really in to guns. It was a powerful and accurate rifle though with a bit of a kick.
Ответитьamazing sir
ОтветитьThe SMLE no1 mk1 3 star was the first one to use the improved mark 7 303 round then it was the no1 mk3 then no1 mk3 1 star which lost the magazine cut off and volley sights
ОтветитьI have this in 1941
ОтветитьHad one for a while smoothest action I ever seen but would misfire every 3 or 4 shots put new barrel on it and everything gave it away to a friend after telling him several times it misfires never could get it fixed
ОтветитьIf I moved to the USA I'd buy one of these the first week. Boring things like cars and ovens can wait.
ОтветитьYou need to keep the bolt open when putting on a loaded mag or it may not seat properly, which is why it's falling off. Open the bolt seat the mag with a smack and chamber your 1st round.
ОтветитьSince I'm British I can't own a proper SMLE unfortunately but I am set on getting an airsoft replica since its the next best thing. In my opinion, the SMLE is one of the best looking bolt action rifles in history. Plus the fairly large magazine capacity for a bolt gun is really impressive. Love the Enfield family and the history they hold.
ОтветитьThe best bolt axtion inww2 (in my opinion)
Ответить...the 'smelly' was my first introduction to milsurps and 'C&R' when my dad brought one home ca 1961/62 - prolly one of the first to be surplussed out by the UK...fell in love with it when I was 11 or 12 years old...hadda wait until I was in my 40s to finally buy one...
ОтветитьJe viens d'en acheter un , j'adore ce fusil .
Par contre ça tape fort .
My favourite weapon. Though, seeing the comments saying I’m an Aussie, I’m a yank, I’m a Canuck, I’m a Brit etc. We are the same fucking family!! 🙄
ОтветитьThis is my dream rifle. I gotta get my hands on one. Probably the coolest gun ive ever fired. Have wanted one ver since.
ОтветитьGRATE‼️💪☝️✔️
ОтветитьWay back in 65 I had the stnd Army rifle before this .A 1879 martini Henry. But as it was totally illegal for me to own it and a prison sentence if caught with it .I handed it in to police under a gun amnesty .Boy I wish I had kept it.😢
Ответить❤❤❤❤

ОтветитьYou need to hit the cinder block
ОтветитьThat cigar is for the victory dance...😅
ОтветитьAs a 13 year old cadet handling one of those, was scary, brutal but that action unlike any other weapon. Many thanks.
Ответить手工和材料都不及德國槍!?😮😅😊
ОтветитьLoved this video so much, thank you for showing what a one hundred year old plus rifle can still do. I have a deactivated 1918 version and found in an antique shop, a brass oil container that would have been in the butt compartment that you show in the video.
ОтветитьI have a '41 sporterized, fastest bolt gun out there.
ОтветитьThese have always been a family favorite hunting rifle. We got quite a few of them when they were everywhere for $50-$75 bucks
ОтветитьClassic historic rifle I've fired one also the British Cadets have a .22 conversion. Excellent video as always. If the FALE is the right arm of the free world then the SMLE is its father and the King's sword of the British Empire. Awesome.
ОтветитьThat gun most definitely has bodies
ОтветитьI have my dads 303 smle, it was manufactured by savage in America, I think he bought it as war surplus sometime after ww2. New and packed in grease. Came with a spike bayonet.
ОтветитьThe British SMLE rifle and the .303 are one of the greatest combinations designed for war ever to be made. The rifle is extremely well made, the bolt is slick and quick, and with a 10 round magazine, you are never under gunned. The .303 round is an accurate hard hitting round, only slightly less powerful than the 7.62 NATO round. The Mauser, Carcano, Mosin-Nagant, Springfield 03, Arisaka, and Berthier were all proven designs, but I would take a SMLE rifle over any of them.
ОтветитьHay Mr Hickok What's Up Mate So Yeah Out Of All the Old Bolt Action Rifles That We're Both Used in WW1 & WW2 The Lee Enfield SMLE MKIII The British Army Used in WW1 & WW2 Is One of my Absolute Favourite Bolt Action Rifles From The Early 1900s Especially The Sniper Variant & That's Awesome Coming From Me Being A Proud British Citizen.
Ответитьis is safe to put modern 303 ammo in a gun like that
ОтветитьThe Lee Enfield was in service with the Canadian Rangers right up until a few years ago when they replaced it with the .308 calibre C19. I’ve used this rifle my whole life.
Ответитьbeauty
ОтветитьStill issued to police in India
ОтветитьYou can still get new 303s that were never issued , this gives you a new rifle but they are a little bit expensive . By saying new it means they were made in the 50s or 60s but were never issued to solders and packed away in heavy grease in some warehouse somewhere .
ОтветитьThe Rangers in the Canadian North still use the 303 British SMLE 111 because it is more reliable in tempures below -60 % F . A lot of hunters in Canada use the 303 as their main weapon for big game such as moose elk caribou . I have one myself and it is deadly for big game at medium distances . I love it and ammo is fairly cheap in most provinces .
Ответитьhi mr. i have the same rifle, but i never shot with it, i do not know if is good. 2023 10 29 saint-joseph de mekinac, trois-rives, Quebec
ОтветитьFantastic weapon. Fit for purpose. Thankyou for the well put together presentation. Regards.
ОтветитьGot this gun in Zimbabwe
My dad passed away at 72 on 2 November 2022 and part of his legacy to us was guns he left me and my 2 brothers
He left
Savage 1899
Charter Arms AR7
Uzi 9mm
Charter Arms double barrel shotgun
And of course the Lee Enfield which in Southern Africa is generally just called a 303. I've never fired the 303 because ammo is sooo sooo expensive in Zim
Only gun we regularly fire is the AR7 and even then a box of. 22LR costs 20USD in Zim
Can't wait to fire the 303 one day soon😎🤓🤓
Hey Mr Hickok, firstly I love your videos...did you know you can load 11 rounds one in the breach then load your magazine pull the pin back an blast away... an never slap your magazine into your rifle it can cause a jam an ya dead...over
Ответить303 British was cordite thought during its war time service?
ОтветитьThese guns are such powerful still used by police constable in india
Ответить
