20 Things You Should Know Before Playing DawnCraft! (Beginner Guide)

Oh God iam very want to play this modpack but i not have pc 😢😢

I'm going to say that from a dev pov, it's usually not good when your game requires a video explaining how to progress or what they need to do.

It usually means that the game is not communicating the path it wants the player to take through its design well enough. (now i know this IS NOT a fleshed out game but rather a modpack with a bit more limitations)
You can't assume your players will just get the dodge roll either when it's such a core part of how you design combat. When it's such a crucial part, you need to PUSH the player in this direction. Heck, Fromsoftware tells the player how to summon its horse to explore the vast world, it tells the player how to avoid and deal damage, aka rolling and hitting.
Now this is Minecraft and players just expect minecraft levels of freedom, so if you dont tell them to do something and make sure they hear you, they likely wont. And you also cant assume players to know all the mods you've put into the game because reading and researching the entire mod list should not be a prerequisite to playing the game. "Apotheosis? What the hell do I use these gems for? (Notice how I didn't even say Ars Neuveau? That's because I haven't a single clue what it is.)"
Playing the pack was often confusion, full inventory and backpack, and looking stuff up on the internet because I don't know whether the game is bugged or I just don't know enough about how it's supposed to work.

I have yet to kill one boss before I took a break from the game. Although I can't deny that's it has brought me great fun in some moments as well.

You have a vision for your modpack. I can clearly see that you aim to overhaul how Minecraft is played. Your "game," however, is a compilation of different mods made by different people inside of a game that is created quite literally so that you can explore and go wherever you like with simple progression. And although its not good to just tell them in walls and halls of text, tutorials for fundamentals, things that you want your players to know are good because it will decrease the information overload curve, allowing players to organically discover what they should if you care about that aspect of your game. BUT you have to make sure at least 80% players are going to see it.

Good UX is the key here, I believe. And I also believe in your passion for this project and the work you've put into it. Makes me want to help out how I can.

What I, from a game design perspective, don't understand is locking movements and, as you said, extremely important fighting mechanics like rolling behind quests. If you have a bad start, well, you're screwed. Mechanics should never be acquired through quests. At least not the basic ones ... that you need in a soulslike game - or modpack, in this case. Just imagine Elden Ring, even the first couple of hours, without rolling. That doesn't work.

The Koroks are too confusing sometimes... It's never clear what I'm supposed to do with them. I find one, click on them and they disappear never to be seen again.

The only way i probably beat this modpack in only 3 IRL gameplay time is that i know almost all mods here functionality
Because i always played with mods And rarely vanilla

Give us back seasons and tempture mod, why would you remove such an amazing, realistic mod?

21. This game is buggy to the point where you sometimes cant even respawn. Then you have to go back to the menu, join your world, get an error message, join again and hope that your world is not corrupted

if i take villagers away from their homes will they stop trading with me because i literally cannot interact with any of the villagers ive taken to my base, my reputation is neutral and the only villager i can interact with is the guildmaster

which mod added the circular stamina bar at the bottom?

modpack is great and ive been having alot of fun with it. However in hte recent update to the modpack on curseforge it has broken the game and i cant play it.

So I have epic fight downloaded for 1.18.2 with my own made mod pack, however whenever I try to use it, the attacks don’t happen and it freezes my entire game. I’ve tried to delete the epic fight mod and just play casually but it resorts to the same freeze. Is it some incompatibility with stuff such as ice and fire or is it too many mods? (I have 40 installed)

what is the name of the resource pack used?

I find the koroks but all they do is aimlessly walk around, I cant interact with them. Is this bugged or have I missed something? Any help is welcome

What happened to the mod that let you change your armor into different cosmetics

When i played your mod and talked to that npc that explains the story some mob attacked me and killed me and i couldnt even do anything about it because i was stuck in this stupid dialog and when i respawned the mob was gone... just why? Then this map is so fucking useless because it always points to a village thousands of blocks away and you only have a small dot in one of the corners so you dont even know weather you move towards it or not. Why cant u make it so that you spawn right next to the village where u can start your quests

Amazing Work! I wanted to leave this comment somewhere for people to find. I was having world generation issues with version 1.31, but reverting to 1.30 Fixed it. There's not much online explaining how to troubleshoot world generation crashes :P I'm sure there's a better fix involving my JRE or JDK versions or something, but this allowed me to at least play the game.
