The very idea of "learning to code" without learning the fundamentals first is screwed up beyond any measure. Yet, so many fell to it.

Hi Doraian, I learn a lot of new things about life and software development from your channel and videos. Thank you for being real and honest ❤. Last week i quit my job at MNC , where i worked as a MERN web developer over the past 2.8 years .I am 27 now and I live in India .In this job i became a better developer but the reason why I quit this job was the pay-check , it is highly under-paid and the growth in salary is very low just enough to beat inflation by a few points. But I have started to rethink my decision looking at the job market right now , and drop in hiring across industries since I am fairly new to the industry, is it wise to quit a high-security job or risk it and look for new opportunities.

The tech industry is like the energy industry. Booms and busts. I am older and the late 90s were awesome. Then jobs went to India in the 2000s and Americans would no longer code. 2010s it flipped again when the economy recovered. Now its swinging back to India.

Its based on the economy and interest rates as IT is a cost. You cut IT when times are rough and you need to raise the share price. You imvest IT when times arw good to invest.

It will flip back in 5 years

Which are the paid good ones? It is impossible to filter the bad ones out and recognize the good ones if you have no idea...

People are selling software development like a get rich quick scheme, that EVERYONE can just learn it in 3 months and then boom 100K a year salary.

All they are producing is mediocre web developers who have no idea how to write software. They will not last.

Remember folks, even if you're the best candidate out there, if your resume isn't perfectly structured AND formatted specifically for each and every company you apply for, you won't make even make the first interview. Large companies have programs that automatically trash 90% of applicant's resumes before they're even seen by real people. Do yourself a favor, learn how to build a resume that will at least give you a fighting chance in the cutthroat market.

You can tell he's not in the industry, because he sounds absolutely clueless, both about the state of the market and the value of ChatGPT in the work environment.

Thanks Dorian for sharing this. I do feel the same way. To continue to learn to code or abandon it and start something that AI won't distrupt. We live in a such uncertain times, it is scary...

I understand that finding a job as a software developer, engineer, etc is very difficult currently - however do you believe that a lot of this relates more to layoffs and global economic struggles rather than AI? I still see AI as more of a tool than a do-all system. Personally, I believe that tech work will pick back up in the coming few years and honing skills along with finding your niche (and being good at it along with problem solving) will get you pretty far.

Automation is inevitable, but there have been a lot of hardships for all businesses the past few years. The economy goes up and down all the time, and the learning process will definitely get steeper.

As I self taught programmer I've never look for framework, don't get me wrong but most of the beginners is such only a frameworker person not a pure programer who thinks critical, even those who are in the company
