Older older records worth more money
ОтветитьYup 8 years ago, that's about when the fad basically ended lol
ОтветитьAh, this is great. I worked at Rasputin's and then Amoeba way way long ago and now I happen to sell vinyl records. I CANNOT believe how they are handled, stored or even played. One gal - super happy with the product sent me an unboxing with her fingers in every song and then on a rug with no sleeve.
I can handle the "vinyls" and folks not knowing the difference between a sleeve and jacket (thanks Discogs) but that gal paid almost $200 fr a record she compromised before playing!
Great video, really useful. Thanks! Watching from London UK ❤
ОтветитьThanks for the advice!
ОтветитьI have to laugh at all this mania about deep cleaning records with spin cycles and ultrasonics and god knows what else and angels with virgin mohair. The only time a record might need a deeper cleaning than a roller or velour type device is when you purchase used and dont know how the record was treated previously.99% of the time you can tell if an album was puked on by visually inspecting and why would you by that abused child anyway? If you are deep cleaning new vinyl your nuts. And finally what kind of environment are you living in that would require anything more than a discwasher type touch up? Clean your damn house or at least clean the mat on your turntable.I'm done.Have a nice spin.
ОтветитьNah. That Serge Gainsbourgh album they're spinning is just naturally filthy.
ОтветитьREAD IF YOU DONT WANT TO SCRATCH NEW RECORDS. I watched all these types of videos when I started collecting and none of them mention DO NOT DROP your records in the inner sleeves, slowly slide them in (even if brand new). After catagorizing 100 newly bought records with new sleeves all of mine have hairline scratches. Dont end up in my prediciment and do PROPER research before handling all your records. All these videos SUCK!
Ответитьtop tip don't scratch with them
ОтветитьWould a swiffer duster be safe instead of a microfiber rag?
ОтветитьI usually don't listen to what record nerds say, but this guy was very chill and good looking, so I listened to him.
ОтветитьI clean my records with gentle flow of faucet water. Then spray them with 70% alcohol then wipe dry with anti static cloth
ОтветитьHad to check this video out after some dude tried to sell me a super expensive needle brush
ОтветитьYou forgot about static build up and what it can do with dust on your album and the needle, also on how it effects the sound of your album.
ОтветитьHello guys! Very useful video for passionate' s!! Where can we find the solution, cloths and brush? Something good, I mean! Any idea? Thanks and keep us informed about topic!
ОтветитьI have just clean my lp in worm water dish sopy and a soft brush and been happy Sownd is good on my b and o deck
ОтветитьMy dad has over 500 records that are packed tightly never cleaned and they still play great. They haven’t been played in like 10 plus years
Ответитьwhy does ray keep cutting off chris like that, poor chris
ОтветитьI'm new to record players but we cleaned the record player and put a new needle on it but his record player won't spin how do you fix that
ОтветитьThanks for the great information
ОтветитьGood simple video. Thanks
ОтветитьAnd this is why we use our phones. So we don't have to waste our time and money doing this shit
ОтветитьWhat is a cleaning solution?
ОтветитьI’ve been collecting records for the past 5 months now and I’ve just now thought about cleaning them. And theory are 12 of those 50 cents- 12 dollar records that look like they have been through hell and back. I’m so stupid to not have tried cleaning them
ОтветитьI'm glad I watched. I got mine a day ago and I been touching the surface 😭
Ответить@Amoeba Great video because I am just getting back into collecting vinyl and specifically 45's
ОтветитьPaper inner sleeves? Really?
ОтветитьI have records that are of my aunt and grandma singing together. I would say that their dad recorded them in the late 1930s or early to mid 1940s. The record's surface is peeling/cracked/falling off and some recorded parts are missing on both sides of one of them. The other record has one in tact side and the other in the same condition as both sides of the other one. Is there anyway of fixing them that I could play them at least once?
ОтветитьThank you guys ! 👍
Ответитьmy brother had scratched my nirvana record and I thought it was dirty no it was scratched sadly but now I know how to clean and handle a record
Ответитьgrabs stack of records sitting next to the window
Ответитьwhy do i do this to myself
ОтветитьActually great video
ОтветитьThis does not show how to actually clean a record. My video shows a real dry clean.
ОтветитьThanks! Just started to listen to my dads old records that haven't been played for over 20 years, and boy they are all dirty. Ima going to start cleaning them and trying to fix some of the scratches so I can enjoy them just as he did. Thanks for the links to the products and happy listening!
ОтветитьI recently bought a cheap record player from 5 and below and dug up my dad's old record collection I'm only just noticing how much care he put into all of them since some of them still have their original packaging so I don't want mess any of them up
ОтветитьI bought this brand new record never been opened and it sounds really scratchy and it’s skipping and I think maybe the records Dirty do you have any suggestions for me? Is this normal?
ОтветитьI’ve been playing them without cleaning… I’ve just stoped playing them instead until I can get some cleaning stuff
ОтветитьIs that Ray from Norwalk Brewing??
ОтветитьIs that Ray from Norwalk Brewing??
ОтветитьWOW. I have been doing everything wrong
ОтветитьCleaning up an abandoned house and I found a stacked set of vinyl records in a rotted cardboard box on the porch. I wanted to cry. Out of 40 plus albums only 2 of the covers were in okay condition. Couple of the albums were broken. Most are from the 70s and a lot of motown. Found Michael Jackson off the wall too and a few others that I recognize. I hope that they can be saved but something tells me most will end up as an upcycle craft supply. I treat my vinyl like gold. Can't believe someone just left them on a porch. :(
ОтветитьVinyl Care 101: Launch that garbage into the heart of the Sun!!
ОтветитьQuestion, how do I clean my cleaning brush???
ОтветитьThe problem with these cleaning solutions is that after the cleaning they stay in the grooves, stylus get dirty beause of that, affects sound heavily
ОтветитьAwesome!! Thanks for the advice.
ОтветитьI know he said to use over the counter cleaning solution, but is there anything specific I should use?
ОтветитьThanks
