Years ago we had a fire that started in the dryer. No one got injured we lost the house. So since then I never neglect cleaning the dryer vents. Such an important task everyone should do.
Great video 👍🏾
Awesome video! Thank you :)
ОтветитьExtremely informative and detailed! Great job
ОтветитьVery good and informative. This guys video could have saved me $750. People will really take advantage of you with appliances.
ОтветитьThank you so so much! We didi it ourselves!
ОтветитьIf I have normal vacuum cleaner, can I still use it to clear the duct?
ОтветитьAny advice for cleaning it on a high floor of an apartment building? Specifically on if the brush gets stuck on the outside of the flap and you can’t access the outside
ОтветитьMy daughter and her boyfriend just moved into a new rental house, so prior to them moving my wife and I along with her boyfriends parents did a really good clean up of the place, I’m thinking of sending the landlord a bill. After seeing how filthy the heater filter was I knew the rest of the house wasn’t going to be clean, they were in the house for a about a week when she called saying that the dry wasn’t working well, so that weekend I grabbed my duct brush and drill motor. I wanted my daughter to learn this so I had her do the entire process. We pulled out the dry when the first thing I noticed was a dryer hose that was 6’ long with several kinks in it, we only needed 2’ (plenty of room to tighten). Next I had her run the brush down and to my surprise very little lint, so we left the dryer out and disconnected and went outside to brush from that side, to our amazement we couldn’t believe the amount of lint, approximately 5 gallon bucket full but we still couldn’t reach far enough back. So I busted out the secret weapon, a battery powered leaf blower, I went back into the house and shoved it down the dryer exhaust tube and squeezed the trigger, I was glad they recorded it because I would not have believed the amount of lint, but now it’s definitely clean.
ОтветитьVery helpful, thank you!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks!
ОтветитьTy I subscribed 😊
ОтветитьShould I prop the outside flap on the dryer vent since the shop vac will be sucking in air? Thank you.
ОтветитьWorked perfectly, thanks!
I ended up not needing the tape because once you spin the rods a couple times, they are tight. I ended up keeping a 1/4" wrench next to me in order to looses the drill bit adaptor each time.
Is the shop vac on blow or suck mode?
ОтветитьI vacuumed the rear dryer ventilation holes of my dryer last night. I was surprised by some lint that was collecting in the vacuum canister. I try to clean my dryer vent duct and lint chute to prevent a dryer fire. In early 2022,a local appliance service repairman removed the back panel of the dryer and lint was built-up inside the drum and wires. I will never forget that
morning. I appreciate your video how to clean a dryer vent.
Approximately how often using the dryer once per week?
ОтветитьSince my dryer is against an outside wall, i just remove the outside cover and stick my hand/arm in there and clean the walls of the pipe off now and then.
Ответить5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ОтветитьThank you, very informative video!! How did you attach the borescope?
ОтветитьLoved this video! Extremely easy to follow and understand. I love how you add in little tips to make things easier and address things that could possibly come up. I am wondering if there are some instances where doing it yourself might not be a great idea.. specifically; what if you have a dryer vent with multiple twists and turns? I guess I'm just afraid that in one of the twists and/or turns; what if it loosens the duct work and heaven forbid, two joints come apart? Am I right in thinking that could be catastrophic? ( I say catastrophic because some of those joints and turns are inside a wall and not visible.)
ОтветитьGreat video! My roof is really high and I am scared to go up there. I worry that I cannot access the other side of the vent and that the brush will jam the lint and create some kind of blockage. What would you recommend for that situation?
ОтветитьGreat video! You make it look so easy, too. I’ll be doing this very soon.
Thanks
This is the best I’ve seen. You take your time and explain everything with do don’t. It made me feel like I can do it. Our house is going on 13 years and the vent has never been cleaned.
ОтветитьJust clean my pipes. It was easier than I thought. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day ❤️👍🏻
ОтветитьSo dummy to use duck tape. Manufacturer should know to install a clip to lock the rod end.
ОтветитьGuy on another video used his 120vac leaf blower - pulled the dryer back away and connected to the flex and what came out the vent was aggressive. He did use a clip to hold open the flapper vent.
ОтветитьI live in an apartment building so I'm not sure where the vent is.
Ответитьplease remember, if its a gas dryer, Carbon monoxide needs to go out the vent if its plugged. where do you think the carbon monoxide goes? in your house. Get it cleaned.
ОтветитьI’m curious why you would pull all that dirt and lint into the house. Why not set the shop vac to BLOW all that nastiness to the outside, thus keeping the house interior air much cleaner.
ОтветитьI have always used a leaf blower to clean the dryer duct
ОтветитьGreat video!!! Very informative & detailed. I was scared to do this myself because my dryer vent requires me to get up on a ladder to the 2nd floor of the house (I’m terrified of heights) But now you gave me the knowledge & courage to do it myself. You probably saved me about $200 give or take. Thank you so much, I’ll be purchasing this kit soon & I’ll tackle this job this weekend. You earned my subscription.
ОтветитьExcellent! So well done!
Ответитьhuge missed opportunity for not showing how
much lint was collected in the shop vac
Probably the best explained and instruction video I’ve seen about cleaning our vents here I go trying . Thank you !
ОтветитьVery helpful! If you're a dad, you got lucky kids! They'll have skills! 👍
ОтветитьBtw, the cleaner it is,the quicker it gets dirty
ОтветитьThank you thank you!!!
Ответитьtried this today, and it was so easy! thank you so much
ОтветитьThis was a great and very informative video; one of the best I’ve ever seen. And this guy seems like such a nice guy to learn from! Too bad, he’s not my neighbor! Ha!
ОтветитьI’m glad I found this video, now I know what to do . Thank you.
ОтветитьI hope that this guy's wife realizes what a great guy she married.
ОтветитьWonderful instructional video! Thank you so much. I will be cleaning my son and daughter-in-law vent while my son is in the hospital. They have pets and lots and lots of hair. I feel confident I can get the job done after seeing your video. Thanks a million!!!
ОтветитьLOL. Just hook it up to a leaf blower and you are done.
ОтветитьMy man! Fantastic video thank you!!!
ОтветитьI recently had my family's dryer cleaned by a local appliance repair center from some lint build-up inside the exhaust, drum and lint trap chute. I just did not want to risk a dryer fire. I use the Gardus LintEater Dryer Vent Cleaning System Kit regularly to clean the dryer vent duct that leads to the patio. I learned the importance of cleaning dryer vent ducts from online and from your helpful video on how to clean a dryer vent.
ОтветитьThanks dude! I've been doing this all wrong! This makes way more sense!
ОтветитьGreat instructional video! Thanks for making this. As luck would have it, in the house we just bought (that came with the major appliances) mine is an older Whirlpool GAS dryer. So now my challenge is finding out where to turn off the gas supply.
ОтветитьThank you very much!
