Im not sure comparing it to a 808 modded pedal no one else can get or has is the way to go.. Off the rack gentleman, off the rack like everyone else for comparison
ОтветитьI was looking for something that sounds killer with a Strat. It has potential. I have an ODR 1 , sounds good with a Telly . A Strat not so much. It’s all subjective. If you like it Rock On!
ОтветитьFantastic....Way close enough for me.
ОтветитьBuy a Nobels ODR-1 30th Anniversary pedal.....the real deal!
ОтветитьYou both always have guitars that make me envious!
Love a Strat, love, love a Tele, especially a Candy Apple Red one!
Thanks for the vids, wish you guys all the best across the Atlantic pond!
Look forward to more reviews.
On that topic, have you done reviews on the JHS, multi voice pedals?
I'll give your sight a quick search for them!
Thank you again!
These are fun, even though rationally we’re playing two pedals D&M know REAL well vs “Something Different.” This is Definitely a case where being in the room is going to make all the difference in what we hear. Of course the solution is to buy all three….
ОтветитьThe next pedal on my list.
ОтветитьMaxon OD820 is the best tubescreamer, IMO.
ОтветитьI feel like the Keeley has a cleaner or tighter clipping sound (which is more to my taste) but there's just very slightly more depth or dimension or something in both the OG pedals.
Very slightly different flavours - all pedals in this video sound amazing!
Pretty wild how much I love the ODR-1
ОтветитьDoes your 808 have the jrc4558d chip in it?
Ответить"most importantly my 808" lol my 808 is my favorite pedal on my board
ОтветитьAs a palindromic 31 year old (i.e. 13 in mind still), I found the 'Nobscream' label very funny. It's ok - I know where the door is and already have my coat.
ОтветитьNoel Gallagher finally changed you hahahahahaha!XD
ОтветитьWholesome and I have been listen to few demos of this pedal
When it comes to comprehensive guitar effects pedal channel,
Your channel is one of the best ones, I am not familiar with guitar effects stuff
I only know plugging in the 9V, connect the pedals, tune the switches etc
And your videos educate guitar players at home like me, I do recording and I am not super wealthy guitar player
and I always want to wisely spend my money like who doesn't ?
I just watch and listen to tons of pedals reviews (usually presented with strats and similar amp settings),
and yes, I think I am less dumb after watching some vids in this channel :P
It's always amazing to see those talented and skilled guitarists demonstrating the stuff
Hey Mick! Would love to hear your thoughts/opinions on your Keeley Modded TS808, and also your modded Maxon OD9 (not including the Bad Bob boost part, just pure TS tone). What tonal differences do you perceive between both these modded TSs, and which do you prefer from a pure TS tone perspective? (I thought both have been a favourite at some point). Thanks!
ОтветитьDoes the Keeley have a low level control? To get it at unity gain on tube screamer settings I have to have the level set at 3-4o’clock. Not sure if I have a defective unit or if that’s how it was designed.
ОтветитьThe Noble sounds a little flatter (EQ, not depth) in a way I really like
ОтветитьI haven't watched / listened yet but I've got to say that's a killer look on the keeley
ОтветитьStill not feeling this pedal after watching at least 5 videos on it. Done. NO sale!
ОтветитьHe should have called it the Screaming noble, with a logo of a fancy dressed man screaming his heart out. :p
ОтветитьI wish keeley still did mods
But I understand why he doesn’t
Very happy to see his input..
this may be my first keeley pedal
I e just never had the chance to try any of his pedals and don’t but pedals unless I can try them
Oh and I can see lots of reasons people would but this pedal, don’t know what that guys beef was but he’s got some personal beef because just the money one would save alone is reason to buy this pedal
An 808 is 200 and an Odr-1 is 150..? I think
Most overrated pedal in the history of pedals. I think if SRV didn't use them no one would remember they existed.
ОтветитьCan you get rid of that decibel level counter in the upper right wall, it’s messing with my ability to focus on the hosts
Ответить"Nobscream" 😂🤘
ОтветитьIve been absolutely loving my Noble Screamer! Very excited to see what else Keeley has to offer up in this series of pedals.
ОтветитьPlz plz do a show on the boss OD3, such a great pedal, and good video guys
ОтветитьKEELEY NAILED IT! THIS COULD BE A GREAT SWISS ARMY KNIFE FOR A RECORDING BOARD!
ОтветитьSome constructive feedback: the comparison on the screamers is that Micks is modded while the new Keeley is based on a standard issue tube screamer. A better comparison would be to toss in an un-modded screamer for an “apples to apples “ review. Still a great review, but based on the comments here it comes across as not the same (because they are not).
ОтветитьWow! Not bad at all but maybe the Nobles Screamer is designed for nails “as much as possible” the two without being a mere copycat of the originals. It might be…
P.S.: you 808 sounds terrific, Mick! Is unbelievable, whether is louder or not! Damn, is fantastic!😍
Oof Mick, your Tubescreamer sounds unbelievable
Ответить“So we prefer it!!”😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьThat keeley tube screamer was KILLER. Mick shredded the @$@&! out of them to really expose the differences. That TS had so much more energy and crispyness. But was clear! The NS seemed to be just behind against those. … at least on this given viewing 😂😂.
Ответитьjust what the guitar world needs... another tube screamer...
ОтветитьThe Noble has a sweeter tone but the OG has that push.
ОтветитьGreat episode as always! Truly - Thanks for everything you guys do. Wondering if you could help out with a question - I play through a 13-watt Fender Excelsior, primarily for home use, and as a single volume knob amp I'm unable to get any overdrive at friendly volumes. I found a Tone King Ironman II Mini attenuator for a good price and I'm wondering if it would be worth only using overdrive pedals into a very clean amp to get some breakup or if the attenuator + some pedals would be a better bet. My initial thought is that even if I use some overdrive pedals, having the attenuator would allow me to get the amp cooking to stack some gain into. Thanks!!
ОтветитьI find myself liking the Keeley better than the Nobels. I’ve never loved the odr by itself. I’ve used it to help dirty up certain modulations, used it with a zendrive or KOT (I forget which) to tweak some “dumbly midrange” sounds…but by itself, it never really got me off in the way a good TS or KOT does. Keeley’s take has a bit more of a substantial chewiness to its saturation, which would usually be more up my alley.
ОтветитьI really want to meet Bob Nobscream…
ОтветитьI lump guitarists who don’t like Tubescreamers into the same bag that don’t like reverb on their amplifiers…..Extraterrestrials!
ОтветитьTry out the new Nobles ODR-1 30th Anniversary........;-) GREEEETZ
ОтветитьWoow i miss that ts808 sound. I have old 90s ibanez ts808 which i trade it for a ts9...i kind a regret it later. I like the smooth tone the ts808 produce. But well yeah move on....😁😁
ОтветитьWould be an awesome dual OD where they can function individually or stacked together with an order switch 👍🏼
ОтветитьThe most interesting part of this pedal are the tonestacks. A lot to play with. I prefered the TS808 over the NS though, but it's always hard to judge in a online review.
ОтветитьAwesome show guys! Good to have a shorter one every now and then. I'd love to see you guys have a look at the new(ish) Cornerstone Colosseum. I recently got my hands on one and it is a thing of beauty! it will be on my board for the rest of my life I reckon!
Ответить808 just creamier (thats a good thing)
ОтветитьSimilar but less chewy and much cleaner top end. Lacks the sack of the 808
ОтветитьNot that I don't like your long form, normal content, but 10-15 minutes on stuff like this that gets to the point and keeps a laser focus is a really cool addition to the channel. I like a bit of both. Cheers!
ОтветитьIs there any chance of a chat with Nick Mccabe from the verb?
Ответить
