What about the Spanish branch of the Habsburgs? If they had not been deposed in 1714 after the spanish succesion war spain will still be a confederation of independent kingdoms with the same king but with different money, armies, governments....... :( Long live the Habsburgs, the real monarchs of spain, austria, and germany, united by the same kings.

theres no doubt that wilson's insistence on self-determination for the slavs was political grandstanding given British India, the American Philippines, etc-- I don't blame Horthy for opposing Charles since the political reality was that the allies (particularly the Czech-led "Little Entente") would have intervened in any attempt at a restoration (inexplicably). Perhaps it's for the best - had they been restored they would've been deposed or killed by the Communists 20 years later.
