We have a narrow view of slavery. Slaves could eat well, have families, receive medical care and live as well as non-slaves, they just couldn't leave and had to obey orders.
Slaves weren't beaten and chained to a wall in a cave at night, they were respected.
Why wouldn't you give a valuable slave medical care?
That's how they got the pyramids built.

They don't know how the pyramids were built, the stones transported, lifted or cut, but they dismissed Herodotus' claim of 100,000 workers.

I don't follow your logic in presuming that just because; a) tombs were found...many of them with detailed hieroglyphic carvings and personal belongings in them... b) evidence of the making of beer and high quality food was found, c) "the bones of 600 skeletons" have thus far been unearthed, and d) these bones show family structure; that this somehow negates the idea that the pyramids were constructed by slaves. Why should we make that assumption?? Do you really think the builders of these monoliths numbered merely in the hundreds?! I submit that these discovered tombs and the remains of bones indicating whole families, is evidence of the workers who made the beer and food and who were the architects and the engineers and the supervisors and the artisans and so on. And that in addition to those "hundreds", there were thousands of SLAVES who did the actual physical work of construction, AND for whom the beer and high quality food was made! To assume that slaves wouldn't be well fed and cared for JUST because they're slaves, is ludicrous. How would any rational person...even an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh....expect work of such a megalithic proportion, be done unless the workers were in good health and adequately fueled? Only an idiot, or Hollywood (but i repeat myself) would propose to get top quality results from the lowest quality investment. Just because the Egyptians may have regarded the slave labour who built the pyramids as no more than chattels or domestic animals, doesn't mean they wouldn't have fed them well. Or maybe they didn't really want these massive structures built, so they starved the slaves and whipped them harder to motivate them when they were faint and passing out from lack of water or adequate sustenance. ? What an absolutely preposterous notion!
