This is why I pretty much stopped buying console systems altogether. I'd been building my own PC towers since the mid 90s at this point, so transitioning away was easy enough. I've definitely missed out on alot of great games over the years, but my integrity is still intact.

Wait I remember this like it was yesterday everyone was trying to play a certain game that people were so pissed. That whole psn issue was from lizard squad unless that was another issue but, I remember the news were blaming very much on lizard squad. Another hacker group that anonymous threaten them to stop.

sony lerned there lessons. the ps4 hopefully stays unjailbraked and i actually dont get the peple who would support the hacker groups. they cause harm in any direction without a reasone. i wanted to play mw3 and not get a load of waitng till the servers went back online again.

Companies have too much power, yes!
But on the flipside, they also need to 100% protect the product they invented or even produced on behalf of another company.
This is so you and me don't have to pay 50% more for their next updated product, because of big losses incurred, when some idiot spouts out about the inner workings of a product, which is likely to be a company secret, to prevent illegal copying etc.
Also the implications of producing a product for someone and is there a risk of being sued by the original licensing company?
In this day and age, if you had just invented something like Microsoft did over 30 years ago and felt you deserved financial recognition, you trade mark and/or copyright it, yes?
So, how would you like it if you're company was damaged by some bored idiot in his bedroom?
We might now have a version of a computer from 20 years ago in 2030, due to that company suffering big losses and another company in an autocracy making millions out of a few minutes work instead of years of building up a company and all the millions of employee hours they paid for!
Then there's the amount of jobs that would not have been created, but hundreds or thousands of jobs created for that company in that autocratic state!

Did SONY ever have to pay any money because of credit cards numbers being stolen ? They say it happened "Credit Card Numbers Stolen" it is big stick to attack the hackers. "They are STEALING from YOU" But did it ever happen ? or did Anonymous just shut down the servers and SONY crying WOLF WOLF even at this late stage. This to me is an important thing. Did the man on the white hours that can to help the man being attacked (now frightened of everyone) accused of assault on the hooligans? They will never tell.

I think a hacker who hacks to take a stand and validate their perspectives and motives rather than to screw around and do it only for the benefit of publicly exposing or stealing personal information is by far the most dangerous kind of hacker out there, not because of what they can do through the network, but because of what impact it may have when they do it. Sometimes you don't know how powerful a hacker is until they do what they said they'd do.
