My middle brother out of 3 boys and 3 girls. We knew something was wrong with him earlier on in life. So my parents said he was diagnosed with Pscysofrenic. So i spelled the diagnosis wrong. He would never hurt a anyone but he was a theif. All of his young and adult life he was on my poor Mom's skirt tales & driving her to the point where she had to take anxiety meds. When my Mom passed away in September 2006 he became homeless. If he wouldn't have stolen stuff/things all of us stopped helping him. So to make a long story short he was tired and worn out he admitted himself to St. Elizabeth's Mental Hospital that was built in the 1800's. My brother was back on his meds. This Hospital was terrible. There were no locks on the patients bedroom doors, the staff caught a certain tall Asian Man that was directly across the hall from my brother David. So at 3:30 a.m., the staff was doing their rounds, they walked into my brothers room & caught the same guy with his foot on my brothers neck while he was standing there. First he went in my brothers room & first tried to kill him with a plastic knife, & when that didn't work my brother woke up and tried to fight him off. So then he started strangling his neck, then he bit my brothers neck & then after that he put his foot on his neck. This song is for my brother David.

In this crazy world 2023, this song rings through even more then in 1987. Wars all across this globe from Ethiopia to Ukraine to even the political battling in our own country that focuses on individual political parties' agendas rather then the betterment of society, to even the immigration crises abroad this planet; we have to be ever present and even more focused on dealing with the plethora of issues plaguing humans and the environment. "It's not enough to stand and stare" lest we be a continuation of turning a blind eye and "turning away". Thank you Gilmore for the music and Moore for the lyrics. They still ring powerfully and true in 2023, unfortunately.

Best Pink Floyd song since Us And Them! I love this song and its strong message! I honestly believe i was the happiest person on earth when this album was released! All i can do is thank God that David Gilmour gave us 2 more albums to love and enjoy!

My Dad passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan. He had amazing taste in music. From a very young age, I can remember waking up to him playing this P.F. from his bedroom, and then as I got ready for school.
I will miss you SO MUCH Pop. My heart is broken. I will miss my morning phone call from you...especially your "My son!" after I answered. You're no longer in pain or suffering. I love you Papasito. Thank you for EVERYTHING! ❤️
