I have read that Lawnmarket is called like this because of Land market which took place here - people sell products from the land - milk, butter, etc. as well as cloth, linen and yarn. Never heard of drying stuff here. From where water was taken in those times? Which version is correct?
ОтветитьThe Hub is NOT the highest building in Edinburgh! Maybe in the Old Town, but not in entire city. The highest is St Mary's Episcopal Church!
ОтветитьDuring the 17c my ggggparents lived in Edinburgh. I had their address and wanted to see what it looked like. Sadly it had been knocked down during the building of Edinburgh University, more than likely as an add on to the University, which is very old anyway. The area was called Mahogany Land. I was very happy that it was the Student Union building. With all the other addresses I had the buildings were still remaining. I was born in a little village just outside Edinburgh. Funny he should mention ER11, if you look at the verses of 'God save the Queen' the 7th verse is all about 'slaughtering all Scot's'. No wonder the Scottish don't like her. Hypocritical of her to spend her holidays there.
ОтветитьScots, how did you come to such a life that you have a minister of health, a certain Hamza Yusuf? You forgot about Culloden.
ОтветитьEven though I live in Edinburgh I love the tours ❤️
ОтветитьSuch wonderful city for nice walk everyday
ОтветитьDommage que VS VS adressez qu' américains !!!!???? Au revoir, je choisirai 1 autre guide....
Ответитьvery enjoyable and interesting. well presented!
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful and productive 44 minutes. Loved every bit of it. I have been staying in the city for the last few years and visited all these places and today they became really meaningful.
Subscribed straight away.
Having zoomed in, it looks like it is a piglet the hawk is carrying, not a mouse.
ОтветитьHej Joe and Mike
I enjoyed very much your guide. Thank you for sharing. (Denmark)
I would go to English language school located on The Royal Mile. I wanted to go further study for Edinburgh university and get involved in the tourism industry like you doing now. Unfortunately it didn't come true with my health condition. Now I"m qualified to be a tour guide for foreign tourists in Japan. I'm learning how to guide from you. Your technique is authentic. I'm so glad to know about the origin of the loo😂
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant. Loved this a lot. Just one critique, please try and hold the camera more steady when possible. Quite hard to watch at times. Cheers!
ОтветитьI was in Edinburgh in 2018 and 2019. 2018 was a round trip through Scotland. I fell in love with Scotland then and have been ever since. But I couldnt walk even a mile with my healing foot now. So I am more than grateful that you take me on these tours. I am going to watch everyone of them since I admire your background knowledge and the stories being told about those lovely old places. They bring the times gone by back to life.
ОтветитьI have lived in Edinburgh for 45 years, though most of that was spent in the Merchant Navy, these videos are GREAT! Learned a lot to tell my Spanish friends, thank you very much!
ОтветитьSo sad to see edinburgh deserted!
ОтветитьThank you Joe and Mike this video is fantastic.. particularly because the info you supplied about the sculpture heads (the architect) was an apartment I stayed in when I last visited Edinburgh… I have so much love for Scotland and the Scottish people and I can’t wait to get back as soon as possible for a visit.. hello to you all the way from Melbourne, Australia…
