ОтветитьThe feel comes from the environment which is why you don't exude the genuine itee of a rasta ya blood clot devil
ОтветитьThank you for the post. I am inspired to learn music theory to better understand your explanations. Would u analyze " small axe" Thanks.
ОтветитьYes silence...is a note
ОтветитьHe's the bass sound of Jamaica
Ответитьcouldnt find a jazz bass?
ОтветитьTHATS MY GRANDPAAA OMGGG
Ответитьif you need musical notes written down in order to play reggae, you're not a musician for crissake.
ОтветитьI like your video very much and I love the Precision Bass, but why do you play with so much treble?
ОтветитьFamilyman is one of the best ever and a pity that the field of musical scholarship overlooks him and reggae itself. Crazy Bal'head is one of my favourite baselines. E V E R
ОтветитьFAMILY MAN!!!
ОтветитьGenius.
ОтветитьI thought it was Aston Kutcher. XD
ОтветитьThis video inspired me to learn bass 👍
ОтветитьWhy was this channel canceled? It was so good and there are so many more bassist to do.
ОтветитьThank you for taking the time to do this, you made lots of people happy by doing such a thorough, well-researched job. Well Done Sir!
ОтветитьToo much sustain! And i would play it with my hand on the fretboard, for the sustain u can use a sponge. Cut it and put it under the strings, near the bridge!
Ответитьplease pay more attention to the lenght and endings of your notes.
ОтветитьAs someone who’s been buying reggae music from the early 70s it warms my heart that many of the great Jamaican musicians are finally getting the recognition they deserve. I remember a time when these musicians were laughed at, told they were playing novelty music or were musicians with no real skill. As a person who grew up with the greats - Style Scot, Sly, Robbie, Aston Barrett and his brother, Tommy McCook, Don Drummond, Earnest Ranglin, Flabba Holt, Jackie Mittoo, Roland Alphonso and so, so many others, I always believed that they deserved more respect from the music world.
Ответитьlol
ОтветитьIt’s important to note they Family man spoke with his bass. He used an ancient African language found in his music that of you listen carefully, you will hear.
ОтветитьWhat about Steward up one of the best bass lines ever
ОтветитьNot to knock your favorites, but are there any that aren't like... Mega hits? Maybe some album track you like?
Ответитьhopefully you will hv a tutorial too of LUCKY DUBE basslines
Ответитьhe is a grand maestro bassist...so unfortunate not well celebrated...but he is phenominal and very creative "family man
"
Aston is a genius. The man behind Marley's success as he said.
ОтветитьDamn, man, youre teaching how to play reggae bass, but you didnt get it yourself
ОтветитьSuperb👍
ОтветитьStop that train!
Ответитьi think reggaie bass would be so difficult because you really have to pay attention to the rests and the number of beats
ОтветитьThanks for bringing light to this unsung hero of reggae music. Great job.
ОтветитьThanks for the examples showing notation. Nice work.
ОтветитьTalks about the feel and then plays it straight!
ОтветитьI bought his old Ampeg 4x10HLF and Amp
ОтветитьI wonder why you didn't just use a Jazz Bass. That Precision sounds nothing like it. Reverb certainly could provide one I would think.
ОтветитьI saw the Wailers live a couple of years ago. I pointed out to my friends how important Aston Barrett is and that despite it being a “covers” band of sorts that it was a privilege to be able to see him live. I suspect that he was far more important to the songwriting process then he is given credit for. His bass lines are genius.
ОтветитьGood job 👍🏿
Ответитьcan you do please a video about chris squire?
ОтветитьBumbacloth man ya can't say the man name right...and you gotta play wit one finger....chant iah
ОтветитьI'd like to see your analysis of "Roots Rock Reggae" one of most "outlying" of Family Man's greatest riffs.
Ответить"kinky reggae" has one of my all time favorite basslines.
ОтветитьThanks for this, this is the clearest video on Bass I’ve seen in a while! Definitely helped me
ОтветитьFix your tone please
ОтветитьThere ARE SO MANY GOOD Bass Lines Family Man Created!!!! “So Jah Say” Has To Be One Of His Best Ones And Funkiest!!!! Truth Be Told All But 1 Song Was An Single, His/Their Best Work Were Album Songs!!!! Hands Down He is At The Top As An Producer, With George Clinton & Uncle Bootsy. & Is The Reggae Equivalent To Uncle Bootsy.
ОтветитьIts like listening to a guy explain how to tune a Mopar 6 pack carburetor while he changes an air filter on a honda.
ОтветитьIts unbearable to listen to this bass with the treble cranked up.. sound boi!!!
ОтветитьThere is no reggae without the bass guitar.
ОтветитьCan’t believe that there wasn’t a single Jazz Bass with foam mute ashtray kicking around at Reverb world headquarters when this was recorded ...
Ответить"Sun is Shining" has pretty cool and interesting bass lines, very peculiar.
