Casio's rated battery life is just a bare minimum for guarantee, it doesn't mean anything. My G-Shock is rated for 3 years but it has just passed it's 13th birthday on the original battery.

Jaco Pastorius' trumpet player in his live band wore a Casio calculator, think it was 1985. That time all those jazz cats were the young generation, ripping new holes in the rules of fusion and traditional jazz etc and what they wore reflected that too. Nobody at the time in the traditional doctrine donned accessories like that. Actually one of the first times that calculator was filmed, I can't find or have seen earlier footage outside of Hollywood worn by regular people such as Jaco's bandmates.

I always think it's interesting when I hear a discussion of those large databank watches....tgat people compare it to Star Trek or looking like two separate watches or all kinds of other things....

BUT, I'm 99% sure the design is based on looking like a computer. With a monitor and a keyboard as separate pieces. This was their way of saying (through design language) that this like having a computer ln your wrist. Kind of like now will they attempt to do smart watches in black with no buttons to make them feel like a tablet/iphone. Mirroring high end tech of the day.

Casio watches are timeless (no pun intended). Very high level function with awesome accuracy for next to nothing. Only my Apple Watch is more accurate than my Casios.

I’m at the point where i have bought so many cheap casio’s already that i could’ve bought a nice watch instead. But i like my casio’s more.

For me my favorite Casio is probably the f-91w. I wear one. It is very durable. I like that it is water resistant, lights, simple to operate, and inexpensive. I’ve accidentally hit this watch against a wall and cracked the screen. This was two years ago. And still works fine, and still water resistant!

I'm pretty sure I went swimming for several summers with my f91w when I was a kid.
