My son has a 55 Ford Fairlane hardtop and I drive a 63 hardtop.
I remember Trumann and also Eisenhower's election.
I'm stuck in 63.

Ain't she purty..... Pops i hope that your adopted daughter takes you to all those car shows so you can have some FUN.. You can remember My Mother and how she was the light of the room, your cruising gal, your dance partner.... Although your in a care home now, don't give up your love for the ole school ways, I know its hard pops without mom, the bottle, smokes, sand & sea, but I think 🤔 that you'll get back there someday in your mind , to let yourself live another day....hopefully your time there will be spent bringing content with what's going on in your world for these days... Just wishing that you're never gonna forget your ole school ways.....Have some fun Pops, before your life slips away, In rememberence of you today... I'm going to blast these tunes up, so you can hear me from so far away... Behind the Jukebox I'll go stay....For these things I'll pray that heaven isn't ready for you ..nope not today.....

A well done video. I love cars from the 1950's, and it is sad to see most of the brands that were in this video have gone out of business including:
DeSoto
Edsel
Hudson
Mercury
Nash
Oldsmobile
Packard
Plymouth
Pontiac
Studebaker

In 1956 you could buy a gallon of gas for two (2) 90% silver dimes, the coin of the realm back then (along with 90% silver quarters & half dollars). The U.S. mint stopped minting 90% silver coins in 1965. It now costs 39 contemporary non-silver dimes for the average priced gallon of gas in the U.S. However, it now only costs three (3) pre 1965 90% silver dimes for the same gallon of gas. Consider transferring some of your savings from dollars to silver to preserve purchasing power over time. You can purchase pre 1965 silver coins OR silver bullion OR silver bars. A lot of folks are buying silver now, while accessible, before the dollar's purchasing power is ZERO.
WHY DEPOSIT 'INVEST' IN A BANK?
It's well established that "your" bank deposit money is NOT your money. It is legally the bank's money. So in the event of cascading bank failures where FDIC becomes insolvent and can't cover your deposit your failing bank gives you "stock" in its failing institution, an institution that returns near zero percent interest on your "investment." So why "invest" (deposit) in a bank? Maybe better you put your cash in a mattress OR preferably hard liquid assets (i.e., silver & gold) that hold their value and aren't susceptible to bank confiscation and crippling inflation?

I am a 2000s kid but i do realise that todays times are Screwed and i like how nice it was back in the day. I am almost obsessed with the 50s cars and i recently found someone selling a few for kinda cheap (about 10k minimum) they arent in a perfect condition but they are still a really priceless piece and repairing them would make great memories and the car would mean even more to me. There is nothing i wouldn’t do to just be born in the 40s🥲
Please share some stories you have if you were born in the 40s or 50s, i would really like to see how was life back then.

What happened to the poor girl?? What did she die from?? The car of the 1950s that we had which was my favorite car was a 1954 Ford Customliner. I have the hood ornament which my dad mounted on a stand.
The ornament is a jet with delta swept wings

I have to say, why was the 1956 royal by dodge kinda overlooked, now I know that the 1956 BELAIRE FROM THE TRI-FIVES WERE MAGNIFICENT BUT THERE'S A LOT OF THE 1956 DODGE ROYAL THAT MAKES IT ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CARS OF THE FIFTIES, in a way they look much like a 1957 BELAIR with the fins the three vertical lights in a chrome bezel, the beautiful lines towards the front are just magnificent, then you have that front end "WOW" see all that chrome a bumper we designed and what's to say of the hood, have you really seen the hood another big "WOW" two door hardtop, two tone colors you just can't ask for more its a PIECE OF JEWELRY.

The United States should have these types of cars in its roads/highways again.
The country was so foolish to stop have them. Why did the nation do that?
