KÉZBEN TARTVA,
Get my girl some nitrile gloves that fit!
ОтветитьI wanted to see all of them
ОтветитьFascinating 🌊🏄♂️🌵☀️
ОтветитьFascinating! And well done.

ОтветитьHoly mother of pearl! That sapphire is just stunning! I love the blue green ones!!!!!
ОтветитьWow! If by any chance there is a lapidary book like there are bestiaries I'd love to read it, it must be fascinating!
I'm a jewellery smith and I love that idea of creating a piece with deeper meaning besides its aesthetic qualities. And by the way I really think there's a market for it too, also because even today a lot of people love crystals and gemstones for the magical properties they believe they possess.
could have just done a voice over, and focussed on the rings in a well-lit setting, without holding them in those ugly gloves
ОтветитьLove the color of the Pearls/grey,blue a bit irregular I see on old paintings Love this video!!
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this
ОтветитьOk ok she’s actually touching the jewels. Nice.
ОтветитьFossilized tooth of which fish? Can you please specify.
ОтветитьThe lapidary I know is Pliny the Elder's Natural History. It's a good starting point. What would be a good late medieval-authored lapidary?
ОтветитьI really like the presentation but those gloves are one size too large
Ответитьjewelry has not changed much from those times.
ОтветитьI suspect you can blame Henry VIII for the disappearance of jeweled shrines.
Ответитьyou are very rich££££ you own many jewels!!!!
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant but why didn’t you mention blue also being the colour most associated with the Virgin Mary? That’s basically the reason why it represents the qualities it does and why the clergy were so keen on it 🤔🙂
ОтветитьThanks for sharing that!
Ответитьtell me thera are amazing copies of these jewels in the museum's shop (the BM has one, right?)
ОтветитьI can't trust her, he shelves are clearly filled with unreturned library books. Hehehe...
ОтветитьGreat video as always. I'd love a video about posy rings too.
ОтветитьSo the sapphire was the stone of fidelity, how and why was it given to Princess Diana, since her husband Prince Charles was not at all faithful to her from the get-go? Princess Diana's ring is stunning, but Charles was not ever faithful to her. I guess she did not know the true meanning of the stone.
ОтветитьGreat content, but PLEASE can we have longer, slower views of the actual objects? As a goldsmith, I need to see them as well as learn their historical context
ОтветитьFascinating! But the best pearl to survive the middle ages is still the poem! :)
ОтветитьJesus Etsy meets New Age
ОтветитьI'm 70++ and just learning that a lapidary is compendium or dictionary of stones and NOT a hippy jewelry store?! Who knew.
ОтветитьThe fact that the toadstone actually comes from the head of a fish is possibly the most astounding thing you could've told me, wow. Like they were actually almost there.
But does it cure any "poisons" though? Or detect them? Like silver, or how copper is disinfectant (I learned that from an article about a sudden rush of copper door handle orders when covid first hit)
More like the pirate museum
ОтветитьBritish museum just steals all sorts of treasure and claims it as their own
ОтветитьVery cool
ОтветитьI’m sorry but can’t you talk about them all?!? Who else wants to know about the one that looks flat
ОтветитьLove it! Thank you!
ОтветитьAnyone can say wagwan
Unless you can't talk
How lovely and fascinating--thank you!
ОтветитьIt's now September the 6th 2021...
It's one o'clock in the morning, and due to a late dinner, I'm having trouble getting back to sleep,
I saw this little video, and as I have an interest in History in General. .I thought I'd give it a look, (I subscribed over a year ago).
I found it absolutely fascinating, and added to my history hunger, and now I am compelled to catch up with some more..Bang goes my Sleep...
Thank you. 💜
This was very well organized and communicated, thank you. Some of Curator's Corner are more incoherent than otherwise an one wonders just how that person came to be sitting there.
ОтветитьBeautiful video, thank you. How beautifully they were made. Master jewellers 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Ответитьquite intriguing! Thank you Naomi.
ОтветитьI’m imagining the bishops sapphire with a contemporary cutting. Wow.
ОтветитьYou did this so well! We're there a dozen retakes? Probably not. It seems you have a great skill saying what you need to very natually. Good video work too
Ответитьlooking at that pointy Diamond ring, i just find myself asking how did they even cut diamond back then?
ОтветитьGreat video, would’ve loved some closer micro shots of the rings
ОтветитьThat's just incredible how they could make such intricate things without electricity, microscopes or anything "modern" really.
ОтветитьFascinating and very informative. Thank you very much.
ОтветитьFascinating our ‘modern’ lives are bereft of deep meaningful symbolism
