I love how Garp sitting in the Admiral's chair is just as much of a "Fuck You" to the Admirals as it is to the pirates. Almost like he's daring them to say something. "You might outrank me but you're not even close to my league kiddos."

Honestly, i can see why garp held back massively here. And I can see why sengoku or the marines didnt ask garp to fight either. Imagine going to work knowing you are on guard duty while your adopted son is gonna get executed. Even the marines wouldn't force garp to go to work that day, they probably tried to tell garp to have the day off. Kind of a sad position for garp, he still manages to do his job too.
