How many people are there going off roading are the sales of those vehicles that many also don’t most of those vehicles have to be slightly modified so now most can’t afford it if it’s your only vehicle so electric vehicles are not going away they might not be able to off road or go long distances but I wouldn’t want to drive long distances with a off road vehicle either not the greatest for fuel economy or ride quality thanks also I drive a gas suv xc60

I don’t understand how EV changes the software? Otherwise, VW has some of the best software out there. It’s typically sleek looking and intuitive. Not gaudy like GM. Though I have a new Colorado and it’s a little better than previous interactions olive had with GM software products but it’s still clunky to use and there is a decent learning curve for a car/truck.

Vehicle software should take next to no time at all to learn how to use.

Scout looks cool - I agree traditional gas engine or hybrid would be more in my comfort zone- if the electric range is above 400 miles I’d be more comfortable with the concept and would consider it viable for my lifestyle as an Offroad enthusiast

CATL is coming out with a battery that will double the range of EV's without increasing the size or weight and be more ecomonical so that should make off road EV's more attractive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really all bad news. This scout is an insult. And a ploy to wear down ICE vehicle owners. This is ridiculous to resurrect a classic American truck and only offer it as EV.

100% agree that more choices is always better. I also feel strongly that forcing EV's as the ONLY choice is a huge mistake. Hybrid is where it's at, sad that states trying to force the issue won't make exceptions for hybrids. Why won't they make exceptions? They know hybrids would by far be the most popular choice.

Roman, you need to do homework!! The EV do cost more to operate. Lots of people doing the math, google it. And, those batteries kill people. those fire are impossible to put out, water on trucks is pointless.

VW Scout will fail before they even build one. International Scout was an American made and developed vehicle. Americans will skip the Scout, especially under VW's badge. European vehicles are unreliable and over-engineered. And electric??? What a joke. I hope it fails to sell!!!

Like it or not. The future is Ev, I love my wrangler but I will 100% buy a Ev version of Wrangler or whatever style. Because I’m not going off road every weekends 😂 save the gas and no need to go to shop

My complaint about EV offroaders today isn't that they're electric, its that there isn't a direct competitor to Wranglers or Broncos. The Rivian R1S is more like a Land Rover. So these scouts should be more like Broncos. I know there probably can't be solid axles in an EV because the torque would probably break them or the drivetrain, so I don't think there ever will be a true competitor to the Wrangler, except for a Wrangler type vehicle with an underpowered EV swap. Well I guess they could limit the torque at first and make it more like a diesel engine, hmm.

Tesla has proven the expansion of all electric cars and recharging infrastructure is doable and profitable. Full stop! We need to stop treating it like novel tech that should be incrementally adopted.

I would look at buying a Scout with an ICE engine.

Sorry, as a former Scout 800 owner, there will be no EV Scout for me. I might consider a PHEV but a full EV version is a non-starter.

It’s not just a phase, it’s a phase that’s already coming to an end. Urban dwellers love their electric cars, but realize it’s still just a hokey toy and limited range and charge time is a reality that cannot be ignored.

I don't hate electric vehicles. But to say they are green? No. Green when they drive by you, yes. But green overall? No
