Nikuman | Japanese Steamed Meat/Pork Buns | Dim Sum Dumplings | wa's Kitchen

In Japan if you feel peckish and need a snack you'd probably go to the combini and get a nikuman. It warms you up so well when it's cold. There is also a way to make them with a sweet filling, but that's for another day ;-) Also check our other recipes on the website :

Ingredients : 12 nikuman (buns)
For the bread dough
- 300g plain flour/cake flour (T45)
- 4.5g baking powder
- 3.5g dry yeast https://amzn.to/36u9xam
- 30g white sugar
- 3.5g fine salt
- 8g lard
- 150ml water
- 30ml milk
For the filling
- 350g ground pork or ground beef
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 150ml water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp sugar

- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce

- 1 onion - chopped
- 4 brown mushrooms (about 70g) - chopped
- 30g fresh ginger - julienne
- 50g green part of leek (optional) - chopped
- 80g cabbage - chopped
