Thanks for the tips!!
ОтветитьHey Roland! Thanks for the swimbait tips, the main spot I fish has a lot of hydrilla I need to swim that thing thru there and catch me a nice trophy bass.
ОтветитьStill debating a 20lb mono leader vs just blacking out the end of the line on the topwater pole I’m getting on Friday. It will have 65lb braid and will be my frog pole, primarily. Decisions, decisions...
Thanks Mr. Martin!
I've never caught anything on a swim bait ever. They seem deadly, but nothing ever bites em here. Usually stained to muddy water around me though. Maybe that has something to do with it.
ОтветитьAppreciate you Roland! Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьHey guys I’m on the Tennessee River and Chickamagua lake. I’m having no luck fishing in the evening with swim baits, frogs, or anything. I’m having most trouble locating the fish. I see blow ups and try to fish the shade in slues about 8-25ft deep. Just no luck anyone have any advice
ОтветитьWishing I would have a bigger budget for fishing equipment. 🙂
ОтветитьI hope one day I'm half the fisherman this is now. Love these videos
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I always enjoy it.
ОтветитьI got my brand new! Spro Frog and tied it on 50-pound test Diawia brait, and made my first looooong cast. So I was working it threw the Lilly pads and the hydrilla into open water, then across the top of a grass pile and as soon as my frog hit the water BAM!!!! A big ass Gater ate my Spro, Whelpp that was 10 dollars down the drain lol....
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьCan we see you try out a jitterbug
ОтветитьGreat videos but the ads are killing the flow
ОтветитьLove your how to videos sir. Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge and information!!!
Ответитьour local lakes are not very good for these tec hniques . We just do not have the weed /grass cover . One little patch of lilly pad in about 2 ft of water . boat dock we got by the score , and the is the most likely cover in this lake . There is some riprap in a couple places and theat can be good at timesThe lakes are sort of shallow too not real good for wintering over fish . the average water depth is about six feey over a big part of the lake . there are a couple of deeper spots that got 15 -18 feet .The Water shed is in the process of dredgeing the lake to clear the silt out of it . I do not know how much depth that will add , but I think it will be in the range of 4-6 ft. I'm looking forward to fishing again when the dredging is completed . I love to watch all of your tips and tricks , and learned to tie uni knots from your videos , so it is time well spent to watch and I've learned many things from you . Juat wanted to say thank you for what you are doing .
Ответить42 years old and been watching Roland from day one. Big difference between Roland and the rest. The old school guys like Bill dance and Jimmy Houston fish in their own private lakes catching bass that haven't seen lures that would hit a soda can. Roland has always caught giant bass from highly pressured public lakes and anyone who fishes knows there's no comparison between the two. You're undeniably the goat Roland. Try to save a few nice ones for me when I come to Okeechobee. Peace man. ✌
ОтветитьGreat video. Thank you
ОтветитьUntil I moved to Florida, I used spinning gear more than baitcasting gear. Now, I rarely use spinning gear for bass. Most of the lakes I fish are shallow and choked with weeds. All have big bass. I use only braided line. I started coloring my line black based on a tip from you. I also have seen tests done with line colors in tannic water and black performs best followed by dark green and brown. For those who have not seen tannic water, picture a glass of medium brewed tea. It's usually clear water, just colored.
ОтветитьI love this series. All have been good.
ОтветитьKeep Rocking it Roland!
ОтветитьIm going fishing tomorrow and always watch your videos the night before for tips and tricks.
ОтветитьThanks for the swim bait tips Roland I appreciate it. I fish a heavy action 7'2" rod and a 7.1 reel ratio. I just haven't had much luck here in southern Ohio with a swim bait but I will definitely try your tips out and see if it does any better. Thanks!
ОтветитьLove the videos
ОтветитьYou look very fit and young for 80 years old.
ОтветитьAnother great video Roland this will be something else I am going to have to add in my tackle box. Thank you sir.
ОтветитьWas wondering does the cusion on the butt of your rod change the balance at all
ОтветитьHey Roland, here's an idea for a fishing video that no one ever makes. Explain how many casts you make in a given day. How to maximize your time on the water. Cast to strike ratios. How to be realistic about what to expect. People watch these fishing shows and think you are just pulling them out one after the other. And you probably are. Being one of the greatest fisherman in history! But for the average angler, they see these shows and can get discouraged when they don't see those kind of results.
ОтветитьNot too many videos where you don't catch a fish .can't get them every time good information on that video
ОтветитьYou can fix any swim bait to take more fish by melting lines on either side before the tail with a hot soldering iron so the tail has less rigidity and swims through the water more naturally, dont suck up the fumes from the melting bait or you will end up as silly as Jimmy Houston. It is/was a well kept secret of tournament anglers in Australia. Alternatively put the tails in boiling water can also loosen them up.
ОтветитьLove these tips! Been watching the channel and took our vacation on Kentucky Lake last week, caught the biggest fish on the Senko 297! I tried the Zako and lost one at the side of the boat :( Cumberland is our next trip!
ОтветитьHi Roland I enjoy your video as usual, but let me ask you by putting black colour on your line it makes visible while I am trying to use fluocarcon line to make invisible, that confuse me a bit what do think.
ОтветитьGreat show roland! Please keep them coming.
ОтветитьWhat to you is a long cast? 80 feet? 120 feet? 150 feet. Bait caster only. I know you can get further with a spinning reel, but I’m not very accurate with spinning on long distances .
Ответить"Thats a screw lock lil screw deal"
ОтветитьRoland you know how to fish better than everyone … love a
ОтветитьAnother Great teaching video !!! Thanks for sharing ... Keep'em coming ...
ОтветитьAnyone know what brand of hooks they are I can’t find them haha
ОтветитьYou the man Roland...your my go to guy for fishing advice...stay up Roland...
ОтветитьThanks for the detailed swimbait lesson Mr. Martin, this is one bait that I find myself struggling to consistantly catch fish on!!!
I catch bass on swimbaits once in a while but it is far from a confidence bait for me. Next time I tie on on I will implement your tactics and see if I can get bit more!!!
Also I feel this will help me more with my saltwater inshore artificials as well.
Lol! I absolutely laughed when I saw a Sharpie ad right when you were coloring your line! Lol that's great, the best part was that the ad was 5 seconds.
ОтветитьThe bass really like the smell of the sharpie lol
ОтветитьWhy don't you come out with black braided line?
ОтветитьThis looks like Cecil Webb
ОтветитьLove you teaching all these tips. I usually don't throw into the grass or lily pads. I can't wait to try this technique. Thanks Roland!
ОтветитьThank u for all of your years and experience
ОтветитьNothing like roland and his bass school..... thanks...
ОтветитьMr. Martin. What size weight do you use both on the hook and for the added weight?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing
ОтветитьHi Roland, I am 63, I have been watching you since the 70s and now fish small tournaments. I enjoy watching you, Martin and Hillary. What great family values. Keep up the good work ya’ll as I learn so much from all of you. Thank you!!!
