Hi Paul
Thanks for the excellent tip as always. Tried the ear to ear drill but as a teenager I broke my lead wrist (as a lefty),so I really don’t think I I am doing it completely as you’re saying. Any suggestions?
Thanks as always.
Your 🇨🇦 Friend
Paul, you are not only hugely knowledgeable, vastly experienced but also real compounder teacher. I had seen your ear to ear drill also but was practicing only wrist hinge and rehinge drill. This is why you are a timely compounder teacher, ear to ear gets the lag. Thanks a ton Paul. All the best to your students to improve their game by miles. I am one of your followers. Thanks.
ОтветитьTy!
ОтветитьI’m having a hard time not bowing my left wrist is the backswing with this drill. Any advice?
ОтветитьI have your course and is fantastic and every aspect of the swing well explained. I have a HIGH spin with the driver 5500-6500-club head speed 97- 99. I dont make any distance. What drill you suggest to reduce the backspin? Thanks
ОтветитьWatched your video on the body swing for irons and it dropped my score by 15-20 strokes lol I had a really bad over the top and my swing plane was too low, now I’m moving on to this; looking forward to gaining distance on the drive
ОтветитьVery intersting drill..never heard of it...I can see why you pinned this in my comments to get rid of chicken wing. Thanks Paul
ОтветитьBrilliant thanks Paul 😊
ОтветитьPlease allow me to pay you a huge compliment Paul. I am 62 and only took up golf at age 58 when I retired. I have been called obsessed, addicted, you name it when it comes to golf. I have read watched or listened to over a dozen instructors and hundreds of hours of videos trying to improve each day. I saw this video outlining your "ear to ear" drill and thought why not. I committed to 2 weeks of daily ear to ear drills where I did 6 sets of 50 reps every day. I live in Wisconsin and played my first round of golf today in 2023. To my astonishment, I easily added 15 yards to all of my irons and over 25 yards to my driver with all being reasonably straight. I could not believe it. I went to a facility that would allow me to accurately measure club head speed and distance using a Trackman. Last time I checked which was mid February and my clubhead speed was 78-85mph. Today my club head speed varied between 94-101mph! Surely there must be something wrong with the device? The person at the golf range told me that this was the most modern and up to date device of its kind and it had just been calibrated the week before. He took some video of my swing and I immediately noticed that my club was parallel or beyond parallel above my head in my backswing. Never, never, never before had I seen that and I attribute it all to making the adjustment to having a tension free (almost free) swing prioritizing looseness in my wrists. It's a miracle. I was dumbfounded and just couldn't wait to get home and review the video again and send you this quick note. Thank you so much for changing my game. Not only is my distance much improved but I had little to no pain in my back (I have issues with the back) for the first time I can remember. Next time I get out to Vegas I'm going to try to look you up for a lesson or to at least meet you to say thank you. This knowledge will change my game forever and I'm sorry to say that this is one little nugget of information that will not be shared with my golfing buddies. Thanks again Paul! What a difference. Absolutely amazing.
ОтветитьThanks BEST DRILL EVER totally melting my Driver 🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьDoes this drill produce the ability to naturally compress the wrist in time for those who struggle with wrist compression? In your experience, how long before one gets comfortable with this drill?
ОтветитьThanks Paul .
I tried this on the course and hitting straight and longer than before.
However… I did not just practice this I actually used it ( just my wrists) big improvement but…. Am I suppose to add my full arm swing to this
also use my arms ?
How you teach body swing when it’s all about the wrists!? I actually like this lesson however.
ОтветитьI'm 65 years old and have been really struggling with distance. While I have an handicap of 3 (because mainly my short game is good) I struggle to hit a driver at 225 yards (with the rool) and club speed averaging 88mph to 90mph (sometime 91mph if I get out of my shoes). I've been doing strenght exercise with a trainer for more than two months now with no real results. I will give this drill a try starting today (March 6, 2023) and will see what speed I can generate in 30 days doing it daily. Thanks 🙂
ОтветитьThis allowed me to play 8 over for 18 at 4C (39F). The previous week I played 28 and usually play high teens/low 20s. I hit 9/13 fairways and found the green on a par 4 at 275 yards (I usually hit 200). I had the confidence to go for it. Thanks 🙏 Paul 😊 May it last 😅fingers crossed 🤞
Ответитьmost sincere coaching keep it up.
ОтветитьPaul, Thanks so much for the advice you provide. I'm exactly the guy you described. Athletic and strong, but barely getting the club speed > 90mph. -Also swinging out of my shoes with rigid wrists. I look forward to applying your technique my next trip to the simulator.
ОтветитьBit of advice fellas, do NOT do this while sat watching television! i did this and now my wife and kids are in A&E with facial fractures!
ОтветитьI love your videos and have changed my way to look at my golf swing and my aging body. I am having some driver issues and was wondering with your wisdom what would be some tricks to help.. I am hitting down and across with my driver lately and I am at a loss.. what use to be a powerful slight fade has turned into well garbage..please help
ОтветитьPaul your tuition has completely changed my game used to be so tight now I’m loose I can finally play the game.
ОтветитьGreat tip Paul, this further reinforces your previous tip of ‘hinge and re-hinge the wrists’, which has really helped me in increasing my distance and accuracy of shots. Already started practicing the ear to ear and now looking forward to playing tomorrow as I feel there is even more power. At age of 71 I need all the help I can get. Have been following your Body Swing for a few years and you have helped me far more than any lesson I ever had here in the UK. Keep up the good work and thank you.
ОтветитьI have red ears now
ОтветитьWhat a great drill. I just saw a tip by Tom Watson: ‘ touch your legs!!’
ОтветитьWow amazing i Iisten to changing my golf swing with my wrist after listening to you I went to the golf course and with in minutes I was hitting straighter and longer with my driver 😀 thank you so much
ОтветитьIs it harder to square the club face this way
ОтветитьYour backswing is at 12 o'clock, mine is just past 9, either you're flexible or i'm stiff, i think it's both lol.
ОтветитьPaul, your videos have helped and continue to help me these past 2 years. One question: what grip for your driver do you prefer? Make/model/size? Thanks!
ОтветитьThere must be something to this drill for sure!!! I first saw this video about a week or so ago and so I decided to try it out figuring I had nothing to lose. Starting Monday I did 100 repetitions of this drill which I then repeated each day after again doing 100 repetitions. Saturday was the first day I hit the range. Set my Swing Caddie SC300i and proceeded to hit driver. Right away on the very first swing I knew I must be on to something with this drill as my first swing recorded a swing speed of 100.2 mph! Now for me it usually takes several swings and several minutes to get warmed up to get to that speed. But after only 5 evenings of doing 100 repetitions of this drill my very first swing was faster than what it would have been before. At the end of my practice session I was averaging 2mph more club head speed and oh btw, my smash factor averaged right at 1.50! And this was after only 5 days of this drill! I played right after this and was hitting all clubs longer...going to have to recalibrate my distance. Not bad for a 61 year old with a hip replacement too!
In the video I believe you mention some people getting addicted to this drill? Well count me in as another addicted to this drill as you are the master of showing simple techniques to hit the ball longer and straighter! Keep these tips and drills coming! I'll report again in another couple weeks once I've really got some time in with this drill!
Thanks Coach 👍⛳️
ОтветитьCan't get there from ear 🤪
ОтветитьWhen I first saw this I thought... This guy's on crack!! I started golf very late in life and played with a homegrown swing but was able to get down to a 2 hcp, and could hit the ball off the planet. I would regularly drive it 340ish and often further. Under pressure however, I would hit wild hooks that were NEVER to be seen again. I tried to qualify for the long drive tour but could not hit the grid with people watching.(two years straight) I finally took lessons at the suggestions of my friends. That was almost 15 years ago and my hcp went to a 15 in record time. I could barley get the ball out there 270 and completely lost my homegrown swing.(I do still smash irons)
This morning after watching this video, I headed to the range and hit a large bucket using only irons(something I tend to do because I now suck with driver)
I was about to leave and decided to hit a small bucket with driver. I did your ear to ear drill for only 5 minutes or so and teed one up. UNFREAKING BELIVABLE!!! the very first one(limited flight balls) hit the top of the 80' high 250 yard fence. It's been so long since I felt that feeling that I almost cried.
I thought, Paul Wilson is not on crack! Paul Wilson is a ball striking genius!!! I just pictured the way you swing the driver over and over in this video and I can tell you now, that old feeling is back! I never thought I'd be in love with a man but...
In all seriousness, This drill worked SO fast and SO true, I am going to do it over and over the rst of my time on earth.
I can already tell that when I tee up a real ball... I'm BACK!!! Thank you so much sir.
Been working on the swing you teach for the last couple months and have seen some great results. This drill is one of the hardest yet for me to do but hopefully, after a few weeks of keeping with it I will be doing it with ease.
ОтветитьI started doing this on my own and man does it work, had 300+ yard drives since
ОтветитьMr. Paul: It is quite amazing how you’ve helped me with my Driver Tee Shots. Can you do a tip please on hybrids both off the tee and in the fairway?
ОтветитьI find just standing up straighter at address and swing around not up and down makes a huge difference with driver. I didn't realize how much I crouch down.
ОтветитьThis drill really made a difference, but I noticed I am getting a higher arc and a lot of top spin, how do I tweek this ?
ОтветитьI see what you're teaching...now here's where timing comes in to keep from snap hooking it...
ОтветитьEar to ear drill I learned from Dalton McCrary. Nice!
ОтветитьAnother jem Paul
ОтветитьThanks Paul. This drill really helped and I noticed my ball contact was much better - very solid :) Again, Thank You!
ОтветитьSir I just started golf 3 months ago and I am a teenager do you suggest any videos of you for me to watch?
ОтветитьCould this cause potential “flipping” doing this drill? Would love feedback on this
ОтветитьGreat drill, It made me realize I wasn't releasing my wrists on follow through enough, I took it to the range today and was killing it. Looking to kill some wallets tomorrow at the course!
ОтветитьI appreciate the full swing clips 👍
ОтветитьThis body swing, loose wrists/arms concepts are the key to all the swings. I'm hitting the ball better than I ever had before. The other day I shot a 42 with a double bogey and Im a bogey golfer at best. I get excited about making pars as most people do about making birdies. Looking forward to increasing my drive yardage with this tip. Amazing what happens!!!! Thanks Paul for all your tips!!!!!!
ОтветитьHow long every day do you recommend
ОтветитьHi Paul, thank you so much for your content. One question: what is your opinion on 'Super Speed Sticks' and that kind of stuff?
Ответитьi like this one. my miss is failing to compress and with less arms my distance suffers (190-200 instead of 240-260). i'm going to work on this starting today
ОтветитьThis is EXACTLY what I needed right now.
Ответить
