MashaAllah! Really, Muslim women are not oppressed by their religion. It is the system that is oppressing us, and not allowing us to pursue what we want. Tahera is the FIRST hijabi on-air reporter, not because her father was forcing her to cook and clean, or whatever stupid ways people think we are oppressed. No, it was not because of this, but because the system isn’t made for us, and even if there is a hijabi girl that graduated from the best university, has the best education, and a pretty non-hijabi white girl who doesn’t have the same education as the hijabi, a job is more likely to hire the later. This is the reality and we have to face it. We are discriminated against for just believing in one God. For just wearing a piece of cloth on our head.
