One thing I appreciate about Raymond's characterization is that he is a criminal yes. He makes no apologies for what he is, there are no false sides with him. But he is a realist in the fact that he recognizes he can portray whatever he needs to be, to people. He makes them understand he can and will do horrible things to them if he deems it necessary. Therefore it's better to just speak to him, he gets what he wants simply by being present.

Anytime someone ask you if you know who they are tell them they must be 1/3 of The Three Stooges

James Spader plays VERY well, but the series becomes boring after the first couple of seasons.
Doesn't help that more and more woke messages starts creeping into it.
After I while, I simply stopped watching it.

james spader's dialogue delivery .. its on next level.. the way he takes them subtle pauses and emphasised on key points just made this show worth a while ..

I just love this about Raymond Reddington. He will tell you all the facts just as they are. 'My name is Raymond Reddington. I am a criminal and a fugitive. I am wanted on every country on earth and at the top of the FBI's most wanted list. I am armed and dangerous!😂😂😂
That last part tells you you shouldn't try doing anything stupid around him. 😂😂😂

it's awesome what a good script can make to some actors, James Spader hasn't always been a "good actor" in the mainstream sense of the term, I mostly remember him for Stargate, he was never considered bankable for a lead.

Then he drops one after one Practice, Boston Legal, The Office and then Blacklist, even doing a voice actor job in the MCU (probably the best thing about Age of Ultron tbh)

Thinking that less than 20 years ago mainstream actors straight refused to do television series because they thought it was a downgrade to their career (and not only on the earnings side)

I think that House of Cards really changed the game

Show got so much better once Elizabeth was removed. I love the concept and idea of the character, perhaps with a different actress or writer/directing of the character? Not sure, but the execution we got, I simply wasn't personally happy with the execution of the character of Elizabeth and in every season she was easily my most disliked character even counting side characters. This here, is so much better.

Yes I've known for quite some time (at least since 5.22 if not before that). who Red is and it is so satisfying to have it confirmed in 8.21 and 8.22. The writers of this show are freaking brilliant. As soon as the bones were revealed to be of the REal Raymond Reddington I instantly knew he was Katarina. Then I rewatched the series again and realized the evidence was right in front of me the whole time.

Elizabeth Keen - The 'Kim Bauer" of The Blacklist.

Loved this series, but after season 2 i couldn't stand keens caractor..
The actress did a great job in this series tho'..

Some actors, the really good ones, like James Spader "light up" a scene and make you happy when they walk into one of them.

Elizabeth Keen on the other hand, like Megyn Markel's character on Suits, was insufferable and a buzz kill.

Everytime you thought the show was gonna fizzle he juiced it right bac,k, you know someones good when they actually have you rooting for the bad guy.

I only watched this show begause of Elizabeth when she got killed i stopped watching.

She was ungrateful after all times reddington protected her

I stopped watching this show after season one. Agent Keen's character was insufferable. If I had known they would have eventually killed her off, I would have kept watching. I could watch James Spader chew the scenery as Red all day.

The problem with show was the constant flip flop of Liz on Red she could not except that there would be a time for answers till then red would not budge
