Toyota Yaris 2021 In-Depth Review - The Perfect Hybrid Supermini?

Sold my Mustang 5l gt for driving this,

Two points I noticed regarding the interior: 1) Why would you want the wheel adjustment vs. the Japanese method of a lever? It's infinitely superior! 2) The rear visibility is pants, why couldn't Toyota have made the headrests that drop down into the rear seats like on older models?

I own this Yaris and it doesn't matter if you drive on flat road or uphill as there is no resistance uphill either. Good acceleration too.
Hitch isn't standard on Yaris, so i got Toyota to mount a detachable one.

Excellent review, I had a quick test drive of one (Icon trim) at the weekend and was very impressed with how brisk and smooth it was. I've decided to buy one in Design trim. I've found the Dynamic trim is hard to find and don't like the idea of the light interior in the Excel which is a shame as I'd enjoy the 17" wheels and keyless entry/start.

Thank goodness the front seats decline with a lever, how is winding a rotary wheel over and over better? Can anyone explain why winding a wheel be a better solution?

I've just bought the new GR Sport version. So far pretty impressive look/ride and performance.

For a tiny car it is really well equipped. I am close to deciding if I should get this one instead of the Fiat 500x.

Ours will arrive next January though it'll be the current model with the 'binocular' dashboard and sadly not the one from the cross...

Think most Toyotas have bumpy ride. If laden they are fine. Then again driving in uk is like off roading anyway

A great demonstration thank you, having had many Toyota cars over forty years I have ordered a Yaris.

Previous Yaris models 'lacking fizz'? We had a 2001 Yaris T-Sport and it went really well, 0-60 in under 9 secs which is faster than this new one.

amazing review i have ordered the excel model pictured here 1 thing im not keen on are the white seats why toyota dont offer an alternative i really dont know, its a real shame i will certainly be buying some seat covers when i get mine

Is it really that difficult/expensive/inconvenient to provide a map? Having a Map button that display a "No map" message is a big downer for me. I'd be willing to pay extra for GPS and a map display.

The Yaris that we have in the Philippines looks ugly compared to this and the Honda Jazz is not in the market anymore.

The body size is Much smaller than Yaris for South East Asian market I hope Toyota will make the TNGA version of Yaris for South East Asian market with bigger body size as soon as possible because they're already said that this model never gonna enter South East Asian market

I just ordered my new Yaris in NZ, it will be arrive in Nov. I am a bit disappointed about the blind spots monitor wasn’t included in my basic hybrid version, while it is belongs to a safety point of view, cost of the basic hybrid version actually quite expensive in small car category😳😳

To be fair, very few pay for built navigation in this segment, why would they when you can take it with you and use it to navigate out of the car, too? No problem pre-downloading maps, I've been asking Toyoya sales members about Android Auto for years, finally, Toyota has got the message! Even my local Toyota dealership says that they sell virtually no built-in navigation.
It's just a bit odd having the button there, but the unit will be generic.
I've had a drive of the Design Hybrid, nice, but I think I'll miss "driving" over letting the CVT do it for me!

We need in India

The car looks cheap For the price you pay for it.. Also I don't like the way it flares out at the back. The dashboard and steering are all in miniature. Also not too keen on the piano black panel at the back Lights.

What kind of un evolved ape prefers wheel adjustment for seat inclination vs the alpha chad lever that lets you go from laid back to upright in a second vs smacking your knuckles into the floor for 2 minutes just to see your S.O. come back from what she was doing and have to do it all over again

This may be the first gen of Yaris whose pilot isn't always a shrunken 90+ year old git who can barely see over the dashboard whilst holding up a line of cars and moving at a max of 22 MPH. In fact, my 40 year old neighbour has just ordered a top of the range model as a replacement for his Peugeot 208 automatic.

Nice little car, 3.3 litres/100, a bit hard over the bumps, all the gizmos, cruise controller, Radar etc, we drove for 9 hours straight, seats are okay but slightly on the hard side, plenty of head room, engine is a bit loud but passable, could not find a full electric that gave us the mileage without stressing about it, In Australia so a bit behind in this field...

Way too expensive for such a small car. I'd rather buy a very low mileage Corolla for the same money - or something even better, nicer, and bigger

A good and very detailed review, but it's worth pointing out that the Android Auto - at least in UK models up to Design spec (not sure about the higher specs) - doesn't do wireless. You need a cable to use it. It's a bit of a pain having to plug in to navigate, but at least it keeps the phone charged...

It is by far the best presentation of the Toyota Yaris 1.5 Hybrid than any other channel.
This presentation helped me a lot so that I finally decided to buy this car.
Although the video was a bit long, it solved all my questions, but all the questions I had down to the last detail.
