The more you think about it, Kratos probably took Mimir with him because he reminds him a lot of Orkos. Both men were subject to torture and torment. Both are smart as well and dont want the enemy to win even more than what they already have. They both want to help Kratos as well

If Tyr was already dead before the first game, and even Atreus acknowledged it, how was he used in the sequel as one of Odin's disguises, and how were they fooled?

My guessing at some point all the pantheons where going to go to war. On Tyr's mural where it showed the Omega symbol for Greece, the Wadjet for Egypt, the giant circle with 3 spheres in the middle for Japan and the Wind looking Spiral for Celtic

Although it might be a coincidence I think Mimir’s torture at odin’s hand is a reference to the story “I have no mouth yet I must scream” where five humans are tortured for a hundred and nine years by an insane and hate filled AI that keeps them alive so that it can keep coming up with new ways to torture them
