My dad has diabetes and there’s certain foods he can’t eat and he always takes a shot every day and night and don’t forget to check his blood sugar

I am a kid having T1D

I may not be a type 1 diabetic but I sure do know what it’s like to be one! My father was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 17 so naturally (aside from the fact that my mom does this as well), I have to make sure I have some candy bars and sugary drinks in case he has a low blood sugar and my mom doesn’t have anything available for him. The test strips being everywhere I can also clarify! Before he got the glucose meter a few years back, my father had a bad habit of leaving used test strips in his pockets and my mom and I would find some in the washer and dryer when we’re doing laundry
