Doing something everyday isn't good either. You need to rest your body and muscles a couple times a week.

I just started exercising again after a partial torn hamstring, and 2 herniated disc from a recent csr accident. I feel sooooo out of shape trying to play sports so i took cycling. Its tough but i have noticed my mood is feeling better and I'm getting addicted to cycling. It is fun.

I have just returned to cycling after many years. I suffer with depression and find that cycling really helps me feel better. Also I can feel my legs getting stronger and my leg muscles are beginning to become more defined. Apart from that it is a brilliant way to see the country side at a nice steady pace .

Younger I would run for exercise, as I got older my knees starting hurting so I took up hiking and that wasn't getting my heart rate up enough. Now at 75 I ride my bike often for exercise (as seen in my videos). My last check up the Doc told me I don't know what you are doing but keep doing it, no medical issues.

I cycle 10-18 kms 6 days a week and I love it for the the low impact on my knees….at this point I am experiencing some stress on my wrists and shoulders.

As an avid cyclist (5,000 miles a year), I am appalled by the lack of helmets in this video. I sort of get it, it’s stock footage. But it sends the wrong message. If your cycling, get a helmet. And get it from a local bike shop that can help with the fit and show you how to wear it properly. I see far too many people wearing their helmet incorrectly.

To include upper body exercise, I carry along 2 wrist sand bags, mine 1.5kg each, so I can do lifting, arms forward and backstroke while cycling.
First you need to be good at balancing since your hands will be off the handles.

I started cycling daily after retiring, and my goal is three or four days a week when I've ridden over 10 Miles. that has helped me take off over 50 pounds since March.. The big issues: I wasn't able to ride for several days because of constant rain (Im in Brooklyn( and the city isn't maintaining the bike paths (the Greenway on Ocean Avenue is getting torn up by tree roots under the asphalt). but NYC and other big cities need to do more to make cyclists safe.

Since, I,m pretty heavy it seems like the main thing that,s made a dent in my weight is hourly big riding, and hills help. Thank goodness I discovered this.. some people would say just eat less, well biking gives me the extra boost, I need. 🦋😁

Exercise important everyday especially after a heart transplant which I had four years ago. My two go to exercises is Rowing machine in the winter and cycling in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Great cardio , muscle and mental health exercise. Thank you for posting.
