I would love to learn more about how you have set up and use your Zettelkasten. I appreciate/like this video; it has a note of authenticity which really registers with me. Thank you.

What happens when you need to move cities and travel. I'm afraid of having these valuable notes lost in a luggage because the airline lost them, plus they're super heavy !! I live in Switzerland but will one day go back to Mexico. That's what stresses me.

Any chance of getting the dimensions of your case? I am really intrigued and may want to build one. Thank you for all the great information.

Thank you. Such a great idea with a whole drawer. I definitely prefer this and will install a drawer under my desk to my right side. That way I can always simply pull it out and see them all at once from above! 👏

Could you please share the dimensions and plan of your wooden zettlekasten?

When your themes pop up, do you move cards around or do you create another genealogy card that collects the identifications of the various cards? Seems like it might be useful to leave the cards in place, so you could see what other thoughts you had about some idea you have connected with a new theme.

I'd like to point out that the whole point of a digital zettelkasten is that it can be stored entirely as plain text documents.. which are not dependent on the program they are run on but saved locally on your PC. Negating the issue of it being service dependent.

I had no clue what a zettelkasten was until I saw this video. Now I still don’t have an idea, but the video is cool and the voice charming. You have my like sir and good luck with your thesis!

Very nice. Please do a video with concrete examples on how you number, place, and connect new cards to existing ones. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this.

I love the timelime idea. Q: What Year do you start? Q: Which dividers to you use? Q: is it by year or decade or century?

thanks for your video! I hope you make more about your zettelkasten as there are not that many about non-digital systems. I’m wondering what card size you use? I use 3x5” … wondering if you have thoughts on card size and if you’ve experimented with different ones? Thanks again for your video! :)

Very nice!

Only thing that bothers me are the two wooden triangles. You could attach them to the main box instead, also with hinges. You fold them in when not in use, and fold them out to support the board, when you open the table.

I also like that you devised your own card arrangement (chronological). Luhmann's alphanumeric system doesn't appeal to me, and I have developped my own system, as well.

How do you identify the images? Do you put the identifier on the back? Do you treat them the same as a card with text?

Thanks for sharing!
Question: how to you number your 'historical' set of cards? Are these also alphanumeric or are they numbered using a date?
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your amazing ZK. I love your box and I really like the way it gives you a work surface next to your cards when the top is open.
