I have never seen real Parmaggiano-Reggiano cheese for anywhere near the cost of properly labeled parmesan, which is an affordable American cheese that resembles it in some ways. I wish people would get away from the "you were tricked into thinking that parmesan cheese was genuine Italian" when no such thing happened.

in the UK you cant really sell fake maple syrup as they clearly have to label it as not the real thing so people unless very poor or on a budget will just avoid it as its not real deal

Best fraud to avoid: don't buy Italian olive oil, they're mostly all fraud. Choose Spanish, and ideally Greek olive oils, plus they're a thousand times better anyway.

In California, the only 100% extra virgin cold pressed olive oil I buy is grown, harvested, and pressed in California. The further afield olive oil is imported from the greater the opportunity for fraud. I do the same regarding honey, I buy local only.

I actually get so annoyed at the grocery store because most good foods are out of stock but fake foods are in abundance. It's depressing to read every label to find almost everything is faked. I hate this world so much. I love with health issues because of all the fraud foods I been eating for about 35 years. I say 35 because I'm in my 50s and in my pre teen years, foods in Alaska were definitely real, then came the shelf foods, by the time I was about ten most our food was starting to be the fake stuff, not to mention the foods we were lied to about being good for us, was not. Now I'm struggling to feel good, I feel so toxic every time I deviate from whole foods and eat at a restaurant I am literally gut sick.. I'm so fuckn pissed at this world for their greed and for those that are interested to protect us are also being paid to look the other way. Only the Creator can and will save us in due time, until then we must try hard to not buy into these fake foods and put them out of business. So much food gets thrown out here in America daily, it's gross. If it were all real and healthy ingredients, only enough would be made and sold out by noon
