DNA proved that Afro-Asian people in Madagascar are descended from female branch of slaves and servants, brought to the island by the Swahili and Arab slave traders during the islamic expansion in Indonesia.

Swahili and Arab people used their boats called « Sambo » (Sambuk) or « Botry » (Butr) to transport these Asian female slaves and eunuchs.

The Bantu and Swahili Africans who colonized the big island first were buying these Asian slaves and used some of them as wives.

There was a moment a small amount of Afro Asian slaves called « Ambaniandro » (meaning : « Low destiny ») Managed to escape and seek refuge in the center of the island in the territory of the « Vazimba », the very first human inhabitants of Madagascar.

Despite the protection of the Vazimbas the Afro Asian people of Madagascar continued to constitute a reservoir of Wives and Slaves for the other Malagasy Ethnic groups.
That situation lasted a very long time until a Bantu Swahili prince arrived with his people one day, seeking for a new territory, and civilized them.

The Ambaniandro called the man « Imboasalama » meaning the welcomed stranger (mbua = Stranger, Salam = Welcome).

The Vazimba, first human inhabitants of Madagascar, belongs to « M23 » which is an ancient DNA haplogroup that we can only find in Madagascar exclusively. Not anywhere else in the world.
That means the Vazimba were NOT Asians NOR Arabs.
