my local tech store has a combo for 16gb of ram a 7500f and a really good msi motherboard for around 480 usd, considering upgrading from a ryzen 5 2400g to it, is it worth it or would it be better to upgrade to a 5600x and keep my current mobo and ram?

but right now you can get a 5600x for 140.00 or a 5600g for 110.00 USD. so why look at the 7500f which both look like 180 on ali or mercari?

Got my 7600X used for 160 euros (tray version). Ryzen Master gives a -30 on all cores which is apparently rock stable everywhere, perhaps I got a good chip. I’ve set the power limit at 90W for the CPU and use a Thermalright AXP90-X47 full copper. For the price I can’t complain honestly. It now lives on my portable mini ITX K39 case with the same ram you used in this video and the A2000 6gb Nvidia GPU. Total power draw at max is 145w which is amazing!

An integrated graphics card is a good thing to use in the computer itself, especially if problems start with the graphics card. It's extremely good to have it as a backup - of any kind.

Love my 7500F! You can easily PBO it to 5.2ghz and and i got mine stable on a minus curve of 15 all core as well..not running hotter then 65c on gaming workloads with a budget 240MM aio👍🏻 great pairing with a RTX 4070 and 32GB cl32 6000mhz memory!

It looks like a crazy good value CPU for a new AM5 build. Similar performance to a 5600/5700 with DDR5 carrying the extra frames in for the same price as the older AM4 chips on a new generation of motherboards!

I just got the 7500F, its basically like a 7600x. I'm running it at 5.636GHz, 6500CL26 1:1 FCLK at 2216, with a mild bclk oc of 101.6 to max out my ram (imc) in 1:1 mode. Its really good. Significantly better than the 5800x3d is a lot of esport titles, not in warzone 2 though but in games like fortnite/csgo/valorant the difference is massive. I was expecting a bit more performance in warzone but I guess there's no replacement for 3d cache in warzone 2...

This is such an interesting CPU. am thinking of jumping into AM5 and was considering the 7600, but at around €240 it doesn't seem great value. This chip is €214 and think I'm gonna take the plunge. I had no idea it existed, thank you!

For AMD you won't see any "much" DDR5 scaling since you can't/won't even be around DDR5 7000mhz plus, for a fully tweaked DDR5 (primary, secondary and tertiary timings tweaked) on 7200mhz, its a huge difference on FPS plus the system latency can be lower

My 7500F can boost on the fastest core to 5750Mhz, can sustain 5,5ghz on all cores with manual OC. I settled at PBO +200 and custom CO (5,25Ghz@ 1.06v in full load) and I am super happy with the performance. I'm getting 51C while gaming and below 60C using Dark Rock 4

I don't remember using a warranty in a long time.
And what I remember is that the company put a lot of stupid conditions to fulfill the warranty, making it impossible to get something back. Just trouble.
No warranty is perfectly fine for me.

I guess that one question must be asked about the R5-7500F for first-time builders and that question is "Does it come with a cooler?" because the R5-7600 does and that can make the difference in price between them irrelevant. My R7-5800X3D works just fine with an AMD Wraith Prism that I got for free and the Wraith Stealth that comes with the R5-7600 would also work just fine with that CPU.

Of course, if the R5-7500F does come with a Wraith Stealth cooler also, then it's a no-brainer.

wow, nice to see someone actually playing a game during benchmarks, especially online games, too bad you're limited by your GPU most of the time so hard to tell which performance I will get with a much powerful GPU, dropping to low settings is not really representative since some of the settings affect CPU load too

So...
Here's the deal.
I'm from Serbia and we have it readily available here in the Tech stores. .
But they are around $195
Which is not that strange since we have 20% tariff on Tech.
What is strange is 7600 is $200
Now for someone from the west as you said may not matter but Buying an Average tier $1500 is 3 Average monthly wages and is equivalent to a decision of Buying a car in the US.
Its a serious decision and you try not to make mistakes.
On top of that, We do not have money reserves in cases like GPU dying.
Our money reserves are typical primary health and family related reserves.
And Often because of Tariff we would rather buy used if available when it comes to GPU-s.
So Your lack of concern for a Backup iGPU may be valid, but here considering a $5 difference It's silly to even mention.
We often sell our old GPU to buy a New one or Sell it after buying a new one, so We wouldn't have a backup.
And the prices basically Follow the Western market on the Rise immediately in hours, but lag for as long as they can on the fall, even months...
So the Price of this CPU is based Not only On the Import tax but also general availability.
And its a Stupid Buy here when theres a 7600 for $5 more.
Think of it Like this.
Most popular platform here is AM4.
But
Even though B550s have some better features like PCIe 4.0
The Most popular choice even at the same Price is B450 boards like AsRock Phantom gaming Pro, ASUS something somethingand MSI Tomahawks.
Simply because They support the ENTIRE AM4 lineup.
Oh yeah, and we don't really Buy Gigajunk on AMD, especially Ryzen if we know shit about PCs. It's fine for Intel though.
In any case of CPU loss (which can happen is some parts of the country due to Power grid issues, like 1-3 second cuts) You can Put anything from a $15 used 1200 to a $580 5950X and you have a working PC again. NO B550s Will Support 1st gen and 2nd Gen.
