My pw is 43 I believe, so I have a 52 and a 58. This saved buying one more club. Now that my short fame has come along nicely, I think I will be going pw plus 3 wedges next year. Pw 50 56 60
Ответитьi use a 50 for alot
ОтветитьU made my job simple, not going in for gap wedge as yet
ОтветитьI'm a 16 handicap and my pitching and chipping improved by 60% when I bought the CBX Zipcore Cleveland cavity back wedges. I was lucky enough to get a 44 degree CBX pitching wedge and it is my favourite club because I can hit it anywhere I want to inside 110 yards 85% of the time. Pity I can't get a set of irons as good as these wedges.

Ответитьthank you pftcommenter
Ответитьa good gap wedge distance for me 100 to 110 depending on wind love my 50 and 54 mizuno T22 wedges
ОтветитьThe last bit of advice was the best one. Practicing with less clubs will also force you to get better and more creative with your shots.
ОтветитьNew sets have PW at 43 deg. Ie old 9 iron.
50 deg was an old PW
Don't really need 50 and 52.
This is the video that made it worth a sun
ОтветитьFinally got my perfect wedge set:
PW - 44 degree (Mizuno Hot Metal) - 125-135y, also my go-to chipping club
GW - 49 degree (Mizuno Hot Metal) - 115y, 90y half shot
52 - Cleveland CBX2 - 105y full shot, 80y half shot
56 - Cleveland CBX2 - the go-to wedge for anything other than chip & run: 35y, 50y, 70y, 95-98 full shot to get over trees.
60 - Mizuno T22 X-Grind (6 deg of bounce) - because our course is very firm. Only for where nothing else will work (lobs, tight lies, very short bunker shots)
Lots and lots of practice and lessons.
one set 50 54 58,an other 48 52 56,cant feel big different from them
Ответить44, 50, 56, 60
Ответить48/54/60 and crucially a chipper 😀
ОтветитьI used to carry 46-50-54-60, and I noticed that most rounds I'd either hit the 50 and not the 54, or vice versa. I switched to 46-52-58, and since then I've never missed having four wedges, and it let me put a driving iron or mini driver in the bag. And I agree with your point about the difference in cavity back versus blade-style - I think most golfers that use fairly new cavity back irons should play the matching gap wedge, when available.
As always, your videos are great. Thanks!
I use my 52 from 85 yards in
ОтветитьSuper fun!
One thing I disagree. I got my wife her first wedge. Vokey 56 and she loves it.
I was teaching her how to hit deep bunkers shots then I realized that women's beginner clubs are not heavy enough to dig the sand. She also loves the extra glide from the bounce for 30 yd lobs.
Not sure about men's beginner clubs, but some are really shit for bunkers.
I play a 51
ОтветитьI smash my 64 degree to no where hahaha
ОтветитьPlaya
Ответить3 ways, nice.
Ответить46/52/58 for me
ОтветитьMr Playa my mizuno 51 degree GW feels awfully disrespected being left out of consideration...
ОтветитьGapping al the way in priority. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
