great info and presentation.
ОтветитьI ran into this issue today during a nature photography workshop in Ecuador when, as a bonus, I was trying to help my clients set up quick video settings for the R5. European clients were offered one set of options, and clients from the USA were offered another. I took a wild and basic guess that this might be the issue, and your video confirmed I was right. I have shared your video with my clients so that they can understand what's happening. Thanks so much for this clear explanation!
ОтветитьThanks for a great video. Probably the only one which talks about the exact problem I am facing.
I have got Canon EOS R5. My video system is set to PAL, I come from India. I am planning to record a video with FHD(1920x1080)
Unfortunately I do not get option to set my frame rate to 23.98. Also when I try to set to closest available 24, I get a message “these items can not be combined”.
Question : How can I set my frame rate to 23.98P in PAL video system?
Note : If I change the video system to NTSC, I get an option to set the frame rate to 23.98P. But that will result into light flicker in video.
Also on Sony cameras, shooting PAL gives you a true 25p instead of the 24.976p for NTSC. So I typically do event work on non-FX line cameras but I can easily switch between true real-time of 25p and true slow motion of 50p by just switching my shutter between 1/50 & 1/100. If you have 4K at 100p, you can also shoot real-time, slowmo, and super slowmo all on the same video clip. Also most flicker issues can be resolved with a shutter adjustment inline to the light’s refresh rate. Shooting PAL has been a game changer for me and hopefully someone out there found it useful!😊
