They will just replace it with another midsize SUV. Got to have something between the explorer and the escape.
ОтветитьGreat review, wow what a dumb decision to build EV’s that nobody wants anymore. I’ve always liked the Edge just a lil more than the old body Explorer, but when the new body rolled out it was no longer a contest. I’ve had excellent luck out of Eccoboost engines on my second 2.7 F150 and they’ve been flawless, great torque and if your not into the turbos pretty good fuel economy, not saying you can’t get roughly the same MPG’s out of the 5.0, but the way they sound I couldn’t drive it easily with that V8 sound. I really feel Ford needs a Sedan and a small car. I remember back when station wagons were the rage and over night they died, the same thing could happen to SUV’s. Again good job on the review.
ОтветитьToyota, VW, Hyundai/Kia all sell more vehicles than GM and Ford.
Sorry, sad, lame vehicles like the Edge are the reason.
The Ford Edge only has one problem... OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS EXIST.
I suppose in a vacuum with no comparisons, you could like this car... but what you get for the price pales in comparison to damn near any other car company (not counting GM of course)... simply put, the offerings from Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Subaru... just about any other manufacturer can make you a MUCH nicer car for same or far less than an Edge... this is why its being killed off... it's just not competitive with the competition... it only appeals to people who don't actually shop and compare... "My Dad always bought a Ford, so I keep the family tradition"... thats about the only kind of customer who would buy this car... someone oblivious to other manufacturers existing.
I have a 2024 and mine has a powerlift gate
ОтветитьI have a 15 SEL leather heated seats, power liftgate , and keypad on DRIVERs door
ОтветитьI still enjoy driving my wife's 2020 titanium edge. Solid suv no issues 👍
ОтветитьI have a 2013 Edge, solid vehicle, no issues whatsoever. Maybe not as flashy as others but always there for you.
ОтветитьI don't get why Ford is killing this off when SUVs outsell sedans by a large margin.
ОтветитьThe keypad code lock is on the driver side - how could you be more oblivious
ОтветитьEcosport 30.2 mpg, the most unrated model in fords lineup.
ОтветитьIt's insane that they are still using a 10+ year old cluster. Even their handles on their cars, buttons, alot of stuff is from 10 years ago
ОтветитьJust click the fan speed icon and just slide it all the way down. That’s how u can turn it off
ОтветитьDefinitely an over price suv.
ОтветитьInstead of keeping the model and modernizing the vehicle they discontinue the vehicle. Edge has name recognition that people know, much like Taurus which is another model Ford completely fumbled. So instead of modernizing brands people know they create new models no one’s ever heard of and then are completely baffled why said new models don’t sell. Toyota and Honda have had the same models for decades and unlike Ford they actually update the vehicles when needed.
ОтветитьCan tell you one thing it's a real safe car wife wrecked her 14 SLE she T Boned a truck @60 mph n no injuries got a 15 2ed gen have 60 thousand miles now no troubles n I drive it on hwy @85 90 mph for hrs. On Vac
Handles curves great n will stop on a dime don't ask how I know lol never has over headed 2.0 engine
Just a good old car (SAFETY IS THE KEY after her wreck I was shocked that she wasn't killed n I know cars n she'll drive her 2015 for a long time to come the Explorer is a very safe one to I hear over Hong end cars
That huge tablet ugghhh!
ОтветитьThe Digital Key Pad would be on the Drivers side NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE as he was suggesting! I now own a 24 Escape and Ford Really Cleaned up the Styling and I feel it’s the Best Ever Escape!!
ОтветитьI was wondering if the 2022 edge fog light will fit perfectly with the 2024 edge?
ОтветитьYou are doing reviews on a rainy day without a covered area like a peasant.
ОтветитьOnly reason I am looking at this is because of the transmission. I really hate DCT's
Ответитьgreat video. I think this EV crap will be reversed soon.
ОтветитьI rented one the Christmas before last and was very surprised and delighted with it. Engine was very responsive with zero turbo lag, Incredibly quiet with practically no wind or road noise. Steering was very responsive, braking was short and assured. Road bumps were not felt. Front seating was supportive and provided good cushioning especially for long trips. Driving fatigue was reduced to practically zero. This is most definitely a road trip car. Ford shot their nose off despite their face.
ОтветитьWe have a 2018 edge. Its considered a big car here in England. And theyre rare here. We love it.
ОтветитьHate to tell you, Florida is on the east coast lol
ОтветитьIf they replace it with an EV, I think they will regret it.
ОтветитьSuch a💩 car👎👎👎
ОтветитьHad an edge. Loved it at the time I had it
ОтветитьSure I get it, $40+k for a dated looking American SUV is scandalously insain considering the competition from the Japanese and Korean auto manufacturers but a good taken cared of used one is definitely a bargain and a great reliable safe vehicle and most owners agree. The problem has always been the price for what you get for those obtuse buyers who buy these vehicles new. Ford made a idiotic decision making the center screen vertical and its no wonder why it is disappearing from their newer vehicles that once had one, namely the 2025 Ford Explorer. My advice is if you like Ford products or this Edge then you'll like the luxury variant the Lincoln Nautilus. Get a low mileage used one and you'll have a better built Ford Edge that looks better offers more and doesn't carry that found on road dead stigma. Never buy a vehicle new, depreciation is not kind on your wallet.
ОтветитьI have the 2019 titanium edge. I am still finding things on that car that I did not know it had.I love it. It almost drives itself in cruise control. It does until the car tells you to put your hands on the wheel.
ОтветитьMy 2020 sel had power lift gate
I now have 2024 Titanium and love it!
Sorry to see this vehicle disappear.
I love the dial shifter. lt one of the reason I own a 2022 Bronco Sport.
ОтветитьNoticed the battery is tucked away which would be a pain to change.
ОтветитьAsian brands are better built
ОтветитьThe shift dial turned me off. People with a bad right hand can't use the shift knob
ОтветитьI love my 2018 Titanium, I have 72000 miles and no problems. The style bits many of today’s cars, very comfortable with plenty of room for the rear seats passengers and plenty of room in the trunk. Sorry to see it going, I think Ford changes the name and put a similar car in the market with higher price.😢😢😢
ОтветитьI need something that compliments my 15 Fusion Titanium, with rear storage space and better mpg than my old Expedition. I have it narrowed down to the Flex and Edge.
I'm pretty sure the new infotainment system interface is quicker than Microsoft's slow ass Sync 2 but that giant tablet is frikkin hideous.
I looove ❤ my 2022 edge!
ОтветитьI’m scared to buy a Ford again, I didn’t have a good experience, but I like the way they look though.
ОтветитьMy front drive 2017 Edge with 2.0 four cylinder turbo engine that is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. I moved from NC to Florida and did most of it with five trips pulling a trailer grossed out to around 4,000 lbs. Ran it 65 mph for eight hour runs. It has 124,000 on it and burns half qt. Oil between 3,000 mile changes. Transmission fluid changed at 70,000. We love it and compared to anything GM has in its class it still looks as good or better. I’m going to keep it. When the engine goes I’ll spend way less than something new for a new engine and keep on going.
ОтветитьIm one of the few buyers that purchased a 2024 Ford Edge SE. Love it.
ОтветитьNice video
ОтветитьI don't know why Ford is killing the edge off when you literally see 25 or more everyday on the road! I mean they are everywhere!!
ОтветитьYou skipped right over how difficult it is to remove the battery on ‘24. FWIW, we traded in our 14 Edge w/290k miles for the ‘24. Hope to get 10 years out of this one.
ОтветитьGot a 2020 Edge and it seems decent. It does show it age on the infotainment area and the instrument cluster.
But it doesn’t make sense to discontinue it after the 2024 year. Could have seen them offer an electric or hybrid option and be an improved version but still a “younger brother” to the Corsair.
I have 2022 ST line and it runs great. Smooth ride and cabin is quiet.
ОтветитьIt actually makes sense to nix the Edge. People with a tight budget will buy a Ford Escape. If you have a little money to buy and Edge, you might as well buy the Explorer. Otherwise the Edge is just a slightly larger more expensive Escape.
ОтветитьMy Edge SELis 2020: I could've got a 2024 but I didn't because they put buttons...the controls are in the screen and that SUCKS (and I'm not the only one who hates it). Mine does have the power lift gate w/ foot control, and I love it. I hate the giant screen. Heated seats, htd steering wheel....I realized some of the new Edges don't have the side mirror turn signals.
Yes, it hauls a** when you want.
Personally, I think Ford made a HUGE mistake by discontinuing it! They should've made it hybrid...Ford just lost my business 😒. Side note: for $40K, they could've made the turn signals quieter...😂
Cause it’s junk
ОтветитьHope you enjoyed the video! Many more reviews on my channel, please subscribe if you’d like to see more.
