Ladies, I'm sorry to say this but, you have lost all credibility for calling this a comparison. It is really just an ad for Forjars. Shame!
ОтветитьAll those lids are crap and fail in high acid canning for pickling and sourkrout because the acid vapor eats the lids only plastic and brass lids resist this.
ОтветитьCan you reuse them, when pressure canning? I find I can not reuse lids when pressure canning the lid is bent when I remove them ?
ОтветитьSorry but a review without Mason brand is incomplete. And your mixing up of the brands you do have and your disorganized verbal back-and-forth makes this presentation very confusing. :(
ОтветитьI just pressure canned some turkey soup using the For jar lids I never have lids that have not sealed but these 3 quart jars out of 7 buckled they sealed but I did not trust the seal so I took soup out of the jars and when cooled froze it. It’s a good thing I did because it can affect the seal or food . The lids I believe are a little thinner cannot handle the heat , I am keeping a check on the other 4 jars as well. Will never use them again,
ОтветитьThese lids are garbage! 98 percent fail with canning salsa! 30 jars! Then tried again just 2 days ago with canning beans! And another big bust! 3 out of 7 cans sealed! Unless I am using them wrong these are junk! So disappointed I don’t even use them for dry goods just put them in the trash can
ОтветитьJust looked into the Forjar lids. They’re expensive! They may have given you a nice incentive to make this video but 30/33 cents for a lid is a huge expense over time and there is no reason a canning lid should cost this much. I spend about 14 cents on a lid. They’re not as thick but I’ve never had a failure. I love that a company like Forjars is stepping up when Bell/Kerr have let us down but at 30/33 cents a lid, they’re bring quite profit greedy!
ОтветитьThis isn’t a true test unless you can something!!!
ОтветитьI'm doing research on these lids just to have more resources for lids. While I appreciate you taking the time to make this comparison video, it's a bit hard to believe your opinions are unbiased with the Forjars icon in the upper corner.
If you prefer them, say so, but don't blow smoke with a BS title.
Check your link ladies :)
ОтветитьHave you done a video testing the Denali lids and their new pressure canner? I'm wanting to get my lids for next year. Thank you for your review.
ОтветитьI have been using forjars lids this season and am trying to get a refund now. They are rusting underneath, so very disappointed is an understatement.
ОтветитьWhy need canning lids in bulk, Are the canning lids meant to be disposed after use? Sorry, I’ve never used mason jars and canning lids for preserving food before.
Ответитьi have never had lids to buckle until i used the “for jar” lids… i didn’t screw on the rings too tightly…are these lids more sensitive to ring tension?
ОтветитьI had to go back to Ball brand, since with the Forjars I only get about 40% seal rate.
Ответитьit is me again! Obviously my dictation does not come across correctly in my previous to post. I am trying to say KERR lids and BALL lids. It came out as courier and curly heads! Lol
ОтветитьI need to add something to my last post. The newer ball and Kerr lids are failing not within the 24 hour period but a few days later! As I said before I have lost several jars of food that I never used to lose not even one jar with the old courier and ball lids. The new ball and curly heads are now made in China and they are more flimsy and the sale is more skimpy almost like it's painted on. If you do not have a lid for comparison you would not know that. I have KERR lids have been used for 10 and 12 years! it is the way i take the lids off that makes them reusable!
I start by barely raising the lid and then I move a few inches and do the same thing again and again and again as I go around the lid when I hear the hiss is when I remove the lid. I have saved many many lives that way. Rather than just grabbing an opener and yanking it off and bending the lid a little. my lids are NOT DENTED or bent and I can reuse them again. I do put new lids on meat only. Other than that I really use my lids over and over. No problem so far but that is me!
I really like your overhead camera views; that way I can see everything at one time and comprehend what I'm looking to see. I have noticed that the ball lids, the new ones, (now made in China) are getting so flimsy and the seal is getting so skimpy that I have had several jars that did not seal! I am not a newbie and it's only just recently that I purchased new lids and they are the ones that are failing. I also have white TATTLER lids and I really prefer those because I can reuse them over and over again. I have some old Kerr lids (10 years old) that I compared to new Ball & Kerr lids today(also made in China) and the gasket around the OLD lid is so much thicker and the lid itself is thicker.
I have heard some good things about the FOR jars lids and I think I will give them a try based on your comparisons. I will not buy any more ball or Kerr lids as long as the are being made in China!
My daughter's name is Emmaline!! You spell your name correctly 😁
ОтветитьTried to use your promo code. It didn't work. IS the promo code already over? Thanks
