Thanks so much!!
ОтветитьEven though I'm a 2000's kid I remember the pc game
ОтветитьIn the 70s I was a traveling salesman and always stopped when I saw a historical marker. Saw one in Nebraska that said something to the effect of "200 yards from here is the Oregon Trail". So climbed the barbed wire fence in my suit and tie and took off on a hike.
Not only was it still there but the ruts were so dominant I'm sure they're still there. Looking either way it could be seen as far as one could see.
It was a stunning sight.
Anyone wanna travel with me one day
ОтветитьI come from Scotland I wish I could see this land awell u can dream I suppose
ОтветитьA walk in the park. People act like it was dangerous. They just weren't real men back then
ОтветитьSo want to visit here someday!
ОтветитьA very short video. That is a pity.
ОтветитьAmazing.
ОтветитьWhen you think wagon you should picture a rectangle shaped wagon that is small. About 4 x 6 ft with smaller wheels. Not enough room to ride in so most walked. So small they could barely fit the food they needed to bring and maybe a couple household belongings. Most did Not have the canvas coverings and definitely no horses. Alot were pulled by oxen, or mules, or even dogs. Yep dogs! At least 30,000 people of all ages died on the trail and were left on the trail. Some thrown on the side of the road and left before they even died. Too many people unclean and spreading germs and some died of malnutrition or exhaustion. Remember they couldn't ride the wagons because they were too small, no shocks, too much weight for mule or dogs,. So they literally walked for 20 milez a day and in the process they starved to death or just couldn't walk anymore and they literally left them.
ОтветитьI really want to know what the title of the music that was used in this video? It sounds so beautiful ❤️
ОтветитьThere is an average of 10 graves per mile on the Oregon trail. That must make it on of Americans most haunted highways i bet
ОтветитьDriving through the Appalachians like VA, W VA, Western PA, like how in the world did they make it through the Appalachians? Thats a lot of switchback driving.
ОтветитьI wanna carve my name on Chimney Rock
ОтветитьMy first time seeing the real Chimney Rock instead of playing the game. WOW 🤩!
ОтветитьThis has been on my bucket list for a long time. I need to find a Piper Cub to fly the entire trail at 500’
ОтветитьWould love to go metal detecting out there, even though I live in Northern Virginia outside Wash., DC. Love American history.
ОтветитьIt's great to go to Independence Rock and look at all the names and dates carved on it
ОтветитьAs a pioneer gazes at the colossal chimney rock, he feels a certain peace with himself. Every time he comes across one of the great landmarks, he knows that he is part of a much larger world. However, his moment of peace is suddenly cut with the knife of fear, as he looks in horror at clouds in the distance. He know what is coming.
"Stormy weather. Lose 2 days."
"Ma is bitten by snake."
"Ma dies by snake bite."
Who else is watching this video for school
ОтветитьAs deadly as it was back then being able to see the earth from someone else’s point of view from back then they must have thought the world as so amazingly l beautiful and dangerous

ОтветитьI would've opened up a drive-thru burger joint back then and made lots of money.
ОтветитьSuch beautiful scenery. Wish it was longer.
ОтветитьI live here in West Nebraska and chimney rock used to be quite a bit taller than what you see in this video. Kind of a sad thing, it doesn't look nearly as neat as it used to.
Ответитьwhat an amazing history we have. simply beautiful.
ОтветитьToo bad it fucking sucked to actually travel it
Ответитьthe donner party
ОтветитьAbsolutely beautiful. To go back in time and walk the trail as a trader would be a dream.
