ОтветитьI have an unconfortability issue with mine
Ответитьsounds like your in a gated community, in my neighborhood all the stop signs have bullet holes and gunshots are heard nightly and no one calls the cops when they hear them anymore, you carry whats going to get you home every night.
ОтветитьGood stuff. I watch other edc vids and think something is wrong with me. I never understand how some of these guys walk around with so much gear and it doesn't seem to annoy them. I have the need to empty my pockets as soon a practical.
ОтветитьYour watch is dead
ОтветитьWith the release of the 432/632 Ultimate Carry I hope to see Chris really ramp up the stock of the .32 H&R ammo on the site. The 432UC on my desk needs to eat!
Ответитьyeah i dont know dude, carrying pepper spray but not ANY medical gear? lets run through this:
situation that, 1. you cant just run from 2. you must engage violently against 3. but clearly not an actual threat to your life so you're unwilling to just draw on the guy
vs
situation that, 1. has a guy bleeding alot (more common than self defense in general tbh)
i honestly dont understand how you justify this, especially when you carry a small flashlight, idk man your phone has a flashlight i think this is meaningless redundancy versus carrying ANY medical
Your phone is a flashlight, you can ditch that substantial space taker.
I have wrecked myself so many tines that discomfort is just part of being. However, I can totally relate. I am in construction, and I absolutely hate having dirty hands. Not germs, i could give a damn about germs. Filth. Mud is terrible, dust is unbelievably disturbing. I feel that I should offer a diacount for the extra water use washing my hands as I work. Some irksome things just can't be ignored.
That said, I often carry a revolver (little else I don't much care for things in my pocket either). Mostly because I fell in love with revolvers some time ago. Like you, I will be utterly shocked if I ever need more than 6 rounds of .357. I live a fairly mundane life. I will carry a 229 if my wife or kid are with me as they are a responsibility that I take very seriously.
There, I contributed a bunch of things no one cares about. Great video.
This guys drinks almond milk lattes
ОтветитьPractical content. I’ve never heard of anyone mention low sensory overload in vids. Def hits home for me. Feelings of necessity over practicality are real. This is minor to most but overall a useful prospective to talk about. We all experience it at some point in our carry journey
ОтветитьI avoid the EDC videos cuz I know I suck. 😂 Now and then I tune in to see if there’s some cool gear I can’t live without and then later stuff into another 5gal bucket. I’m with you! I could carry all kinds of gear but I default to ‘MIN’ cuz I know I’ll carry it. Would I prefer bigger, bad-er, best, ect. You’re darn tooting but I can’t reliably do it!
ОтветитьJ frames are awesome to carry. I like the build out but I personally will never carry a knife i dont think is somewhat combat usable, also a pummel/ glass breaker is a must have for me.
ОтветитьMost people I know have their car key on a ring with house and mailbox or P.O. Box keys at a minimum.
Ответить“I’m kind of autistic” We know.
ОтветитьChris is the most down to earth person among all the gun channels
ОтветитьShould have talked more about the watch!
ОтветитьI carry everything you do but I do it in a fanny pack. I carry a tourniquet, trauma shears and a selection of band aids, Speed loader. I carry my Iron on my hip and blade in my pocket. Phone and wallet on my person. I can drop the pack when I don't need it.
ОтветитьMy EDC is almost identical. 432 UC lipseys exclusive in a city special with some pom an ankle IFAK a watch and my truck keys.
ОтветитьFor me, the one thing that I would change, is that I always carry at least packing gauze. I figure, before I am going to carry a hole puncher, I should carry something to help people who have holes in them.
ОтветитьI didn't see this when it came out two years ago. After seeing a couple videos on .32 Magnum recently, I took the plunge and bought a little wheel gun to be my hot weather EDC pistol (I'd been carrying a CZ PCR for over a year). I'm chuffed. It's a sweet little pistol!
About four years ago, I started carrying a Streamlight Macrostream. It's rechargeable, is nice and bright, has a lower-power setting, and goes a week or more between charges with multiple daily uses.
I'm glad to see you suggesting non-lethal defense strategies. Thank you. I'm in the process of adding that to my own system, and figuring out where that will hide.
I find that I'm far more likely to use trauma stuff than pepper or pew-pew, so I carry a Live the Creed wallet with gauze, gloves, and a SWAT-T tourniquet that can double as a way to hold the gauze in compression if tourniquet isn't necessary. Since my work requires that I wear their uniform, and the uniform trousers are cargo pants, that works for me. My casual pants are typically a brand of carpenter jeans that have a pocket this wallet fits nicely.
WoW Americans are weird, carry gear? Keys and wallet, what more? You must live in a dangerous area, I never felt the need to carry pepper spray, knife and gun. Stay safe 😮
Sensory Processing Disorder? I did not know about that, so that is what it is called…. Hum…. I can’t stand watches, rings, anything.
Generally have a 5 shot jframe on me at work as well. Only in 3” and all steel. I never had an issue concealing a little extra Length and it’s still a pretty light gun anyway.. never felt the need to carry a reload either. I’ve got no interest in a firefight and my odds of needing a gun are pretty damn low.. odds of needing a reload, even lower..
I do use my knife and flashlight near daily though.. I’ve got a ton of lights and usually have a few on me. Different lights for different tasks. Usually have a knife+multitool.
Pens are another great, sometimes overlooked item that’ll see a lot of use, at least mine does. Currently a fisher space pen but I have a mini tactile turn slim bolt on the way.
Maybe high-awareness sensory capacity is a normal human capacity we’ve been taught to suppress, in order to be a good little quiet child.
ОтветитьFor your flashlight, check out the Weltool t1 Protac. It has a rechargeable battery and is dual fuel with AA batteries
ОтветитьEven in a state like Arizona where I can literally carry anything, more often than not I pocket carry a Taurus 605 (in .357) simply b/c it's more comfortable and tbh I'm not always in the mood to carry something on my hip even if it means more capacity. I walk around all day w/it in my pocket and it doesn't bother me one bit and I never feel out-gunned.
ОтветитьThis is the best video ever. I’m 70 years old. I have carried a S&W J-Frame in an ankle holster for 40 years. Instructors have rolled their eyes at me, but I explain that my ankle is always closer than the console safe in my truck or my safe at home. If I’m wearing shorts I just tuck the revolver in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster in my waistband. I’m like Mr. Baker - I don’t hold to the Clint Smith BS that “it’s supposed to be comforting…not comfortable”. Good for Mr. Smith but I’m not sticking a Glock 19 into an appendix holster and sitting, stooping, etc all day doing that. I only weigh 160 lbs so I don’t need a bookmark to find my privates….but I still find the ankle holster is something that works for me. I guess if a ninja jumps out of a tree and surprises me, then I’m toast. So be it. Great video and I appreciate your honesty.
ОтветитьGreat video. You are spot on

ОтветитьBetter to have something small that you carry DAILY than a big one you leave at home
ОтветитьThat’s not the best j frame shape - I have an altamont combat grip that you can actually get your pinky on and has a ton of stippling it is top.

ОтветитьWe need people to care less about "REAL men" and more about "GOOD men." Too many people, particularly among conservative leaning men, drink the "alpha male koolaid." 🙄
ОтветитьMillennials and their EDC have gone nucking futs! Surprised y'all don't carry the black nitrile millennial hand condoms too1 🤣
ОтветитьI thought I was the only one that leaned toward black edc.
ОтветитьTry a Fenix PD25R flashlight. Tremendous for EDC.
ОтветитьThanks for the more down to earth video. I'm curious how you manage the firearm noise and flash if sensory stuff can overwhelm.
ОтветитьGosh darn that was a good video; filled with individual thoughts, growth, and reason. It offered, but didn’t exclude. It encouraged, but didn’t offend. And it ended that beautiful and humorous important that ended so many great radio shows in the 40’s.
I’m going to have another look at your friends “comfort” video now. I bailed on it after a few minutes as it became airy and philosophical and didn’t seem like it was going to get to anything practical.
Has this changed at all? An update video would be cool if so.
ОтветитьHope you've had some tactical training as well.. to back up all that EDC Every Dork Carry. gear you're selling.
ОтветитьHow I do wish that I would have bought an S&W 332 Ti, back in the day when that model was current! Today, they are high-priced collectibles. Thankfully, I did manage to accumulate two S&W Model 631 snub-guns, chambered .32 H&R. In a City Special, I do not seem to notice the weight difference, compared to my Airweight J-snub. That is fortunate, because my wife claimed my Airweight J. I had been annoyed by the 631’s hammer spurs, but then, arthritis in my index fingers flared-up, making me realize that I might need to thumb-cock those hammers, someday. (Last April, I sidelined my beloved K-Frame snubs, and 3” GP100, when the longer-stroke DA trigger-pulling became a problem, with medium to medium/large revolvers. I refreshed my Glock training.)
After no DA trigger-pulling for about two months, I cautiously resumed DA training, and found that the smaller J-Frames and SP101 revolvers do not vex the arthritis nearly as much, as least for now. Li’l round guns still have their place!
I have an m&p shield 9mm and I've never had any issues carrying it everyday.
ОтветитьAll great points. Tactical Highland fanny for the win. I love that bag.
ОтветитьA real man, talking about real things we can all relate to. No macho horseshit. Truly some of the highest quality content on YT.
ОтветитьI like your ideas, but I differ in the details. My choices:
Gun: Revolver is fine — mine is a Taurus (less expensive) aluminum frame, exposed hammer (for the retention strap) .38 Special (commonly available). Taurus holds 6 compared to S&W’s 5.
Knife: Spiderco is too expensive to risk losing. I use a $20 Cold Steel neck knife - also ‘one hand operation.’
.Flashlight: Narrow beams are terrible. My $13 penlight has an LED panel on the side; it casts a diffuse light over a large area, lets me see all around..
Pepper spray: Stopped carrying. Shelf life issues, and I felt it was never accessible enough.
Phone: Can’t top an I-phone in a mil-spec case, with screen protector. I’ve recessed, into the case, the donut shaped magnet for my car’s Steelie mount.
Watch: G-Shock by Casio. Accuracy matters. “Tactical” nylon wristband (protects watch from scratches).
Wallet: Simple $8 steel credit-card sized box. Much better than the clam shell”Alumina-wallet and 5% the price of the fancy things being pushed on the internet today.
Car fob: Goes on a neck chain.
too much bullshit really
ОтветитьChris, what do You do to use a flashlight everyday ?
ОтветитьIm still having a hard time adding a revolvers to my carry rotation. Price is my biggest sticking point . The cheapest revolvers are more expensive than mid tier semi-autos.
ОтветитьChris: As always safe, quiet , practical advice. I’ve gained lot of knowledge , prospective and options to consider, from ur excellent Lucky Gunner videos. If u will permit an old very urban EDC nerd to add a few suggested small light additions, based upon my life experience in and around urban chaos and emergency service work and kit design. First, consider adding a yellow, long-lived , Photon Freedom squeeze flashlight, X wrapped in its neck cord and mounted backwards in its neck holder ( thus no accidental “ons” ). Yellow for night vision preservation, not red , which can look like a gun-shot flash. Attach it to your key fob with a small split wring. Second my ultra small trauma and misc. pack : a well washed 22” sq. Bandana. HOT DRY IRONED AND PRESS FOLDED til it fits into a small Gerber Breast Milk Bag. Press the air out with book and seal it. It forms a vacuum. Reinforce the bag edges with folded 2” Gorilla Tape. Then take 4’ of 2”, flat-rolled G tape and attach it to the bandanna pack with two thin wraps of G tape. This gives u a trauma bandage w. tie-ons, chest seals , head band, signal flag, makeshift material bag, fix-it kit, etc. It goes in ur back pocket or behind ur front pocket wallet , with makes it highly pick pocket resistant. Finally, a medium size Bison capsule fit with a split ring carrier. Fill it with 4, 81 mg.chewable aspirin ( heart attack treatment), 4 caffine tablets + 4 pseudoephedrine tablets ( ur health permitting. CHECK with ur M.D. It a real energy boost. ), 2, 200mg. Ibuprophen and 1, 1000mg. Tylenol, a powerful pain killer, 2, Benadryl ( for allergic reactions ), & 2, Imodium. Optionally, u can wrap another foot of G Tape around it. It too can hang off ur key fob. Pls. Let me know wht u think of my suggestions.
ОтветитьP.S. Also add to the fob and old-fashioned P-38 Can Opener. Opens cans, cut string, use flat edge as a screwdriver and the corner edge for Phillips screws.
