SHOCKING.🤯.
ОтветитьTell me how the glazers can still own us with the way they leveraged the club to buy it and it’s now not aloud by the premier league anymore?
ОтветитьWhenever the UK sees something successful, they decide to kill it with regulation
ОтветитьAll i heard was " wigan will be in the prem soon " 😂😊
ОтветитьThe idea that the British government is capable of competently managing the football industry is as absurd as believing it can manage the pricing of energy in the UK. Spoiler. It can’t
ОтветитьGet rid of the that law that prevents fans from watching Saturday games at 3pm in the UK. Most fans just want to watch their own team. For example, Liverpool fans in Cape Town, Boston and Shanghai could watch the Brentford game live last weekend, but Liverpool fans in Liverpool face fines or imprisonment if they get caught watching it live in Liverpool.
ОтветитьPSR is nothing more than a tool to keep certain clubs at the top whilst halting the growth of others .
Ответитьgreat lineup
ОтветитьIt all sounds good, but it’s not like someone in government and/politics hasn’t said whatever they need to say to get into power before.
Actions speak louder than words. If an independent regulator comes in, I’ll judge it on what I SEE, not what I HEAR.
Terrific edition of the podcast, thank you very much for this!
ОтветитьMy two points are that - the Glaziers need to be forced to sell Utd with some kind of agreement to take out the debt they initially pumped into the club, with them. And don't worry about Fifa/Uefa, they take enough brown envelopes from governments as it is 😅
ОтветитьThis woman is shocking… Just look at her political record. I would not trust her as far as I could throw her ….. I’ll do it for half the salary. The more she spoke, the clearer it became this is pie in the sky‼️
ОтветитьAs others have said how anyone thinks a government appointed `regulator' would interfere in the Premier League to it's benefit is utterly ludicrous.
ОтветитьFinally a government minister who understands football
ОтветитьOligarchs run UK football, if you have an open capital system with laxly applied capital controls, then capital will engage in creating a monopoly.
ОтветитьWhere is bold thing
ОтветитьNo season s ticketas
ОтветитьPointless idea that does nothing but waste money
ОтветитьI wonder what can be said for player welfare and how the regulator might help with that
ОтветитьUnless City gets their trophies revoked, it’s a pointless move
ОтветитьGovernment officials coming in to fix something for the general population. We have seen this before!!!! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьBuy a team for millions or billions. Then have the government tell you how to run your business and what you can and can’t do, even more than they already do with the shady PSR rules. I have to believe this will give pause to some investors in the future.
ОтветитьForeign states owning PL clubs is insane. It’s simply insane.
Sorry MCFC and NUFC fans, you’re pawns in a very dirty game.
Not one mention of any of the biggest issues in football today, PSR breaches, ticket prices and the 3 pm blackout...
ОтветитьPolitics and footbal don't mix. That being said, the rot started with Abramovich and Chelsea and has lead to oilchester and Newcastle.
Stop state sponsorship of football clubs and stop sportswashing.
The only way it can be independent is if it is staffed with people who hate football
ОтветитьThe most important thing is to get rid of state owned clubs from football.
ОтветитьSo long as it stops the next 'super league ' but shame it wasn't about when the GLAZERS stole Utd and left the club ie fans picking up the depth payments!!!
ОтветитьYeah, because I'm sure a government/independent regulator can't be bribed or bought. That's never happened before! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьBig daddy government coming to save football 😂
ОтветитьRemember when Newcastle's war-criminal owner failed the Fit and Proper Persons test and the government pressured the Premier League into approving his ownership?
Now that very same government is appointing an "independent" regulator.
Nationalization of football. Increased stadium capacities. Severe public audits of all finances, including for player entourages. Wage caps.
ОтветитьUnsubscribe don't listen to zionist mps
ОтветитьMatt Slater is an A+ journalist and communicator
ОтветитьIndependent? Who will appoint them ....the Islamo-Green-Socialists in charge, that's who. Great news for the EU and Saudi Pro League.....just edit and see. 😊
ОтветитьVery impressive lady indeed. It sounds like our game is in good hands. It wasn't long (a couple of years) ago, that I worried on a daily basis that my team (Everton) may not exist in the not too distant future - due to PSR issues, points deductions and the ownership/toxicity within the club at board level. But you'd hear this and that about us being part of football heritage and the feeling we wouldn't just go down with a whimper. I can only imagine what's it like to be associated with - or a fan of - a lower league team that aren't spoken about in the same regard. We are all a family (football), so hopefully the future is bright for the greatest footballing (competition wise) nation on the planet.
Ответить1. 🤣i have a bigger chance of waking up tomorrow with emma stone beside me, a closet filled with pateks, and a garage of ferraris than the uk regulating football properly. the same institution that went along with saville and hillsborough and can't even hold pgmol accountable, is going to give up all that quid in londinium and all those arms sales to saudi arabia, uae, and qatar for plebes wanting a fair playing ground and who don't want to pay 100 quid for a ticket watching a pillar for 90 odd minutes under a leaking roof? yeah, no.
2. another reason why this won't work- just read this thread. look at the number of dolts who think that psr is bad and just want a sugar daddy who treats women, labourers, and lgbtqia like cr.p, so their club can get their hands on a trophy. embarrassing.
You disingenuously conflate ownership bu nation states with good custodianship as if it's a logical conclusion and it absolutely isn't. I don't necessarily like the values of the Saudi state but their custodianship of Newcastle United has been close to impeccable, and i would say better than the vast majority of other Premier League owners. It is in stark contrast to the previous owner, who genuinely failed the fans on so many levels
ОтветитьShame there's seemingly no mention of ensuring fair competition in the Premier League
ОтветитьThe EFL is solely to blame for the financial gap. They refused to accept the 25% offer from the PL. One of the worst decisions ever made.
I have doubts this will work the way the optimistic supporters of this regulator. How can they prevent a club whose good owner falls on hard times and causes the club to be threatened with collapse. Does the government plan to support the club?
U can't condemn other businesses to get richer or more successful than their competitors?? This is ridiculous, if u can't compete or survive in certain industry, u can't blame others. Politics & sports, or politics with anything will never work together, this can end very badly
ОтветитьSorry but I missed the part where “the problem” was stated? I missed it. What is it that needs to be fixed? Who needs to fix “it”? None of the “problem” specifically stated here so this is all pointless.
