What Linux is needed for that CPU?

Wow, now I really want to be able to build an ARM-based PC similar to an x86 one, like that.

Interesting, would such a server board with that processor be able to run Windows? Would make an excellent work computer for rendering. EUR 4000 CPU! Never mind!

RISC architecture is definitely the future for faster processing. One day it will surpass x86

Are the benchmark numbers comparable across architectures? Not sure they are.

I cant wait until we go to ARM from x86 for desktops and gaming. We really need to cut down the amount of power that computers need.

Those benchmark tools need to use the vulkan api so they become multiplatform. Also best to run a linux distro or other os that supports arm on this computer...

What a horrifying way you de-lidded that chip. You might as well throw away those precision machined levels you butchered.

How does it feel knowing that you’re going to have to get into nuclear power generation if you want to keep doing extreme overclocking on future parts? I swear one day you or linus are actually going to end up plugging into one as a half joke for a video talking about how it’s just not feasible anymore one day.

Will it be compatible with all the latest games and software on the market? No point on having the fastest CPU in the market if you can't watch the latest 3D porn game on your computer.

Geekbench is a marketing tool, not a serious benchmarking tool. It will give you a number, but it won't tell you what that number means, how much of any particular task was done using the cores, accelerated using dedicated hardware or offloaded to GPU. Geekbench is certainly useful as a tool for bragging, I give you that, but not much else.

Is there any particular reason we still use x86? ARM seems so versatile and efficient. ARM GPUs aren't as good, right?

"Each thread can be at different exception levels and running different operating systems. " - ARM

Did I read that right that each thread can run different OS, operating systems on one cpu chip? So one thread runs SUSE and the other thread Ubuntu? How does that work?

The item used in the jaws are simply called 'soft jaws'. They're the sacrificial layer that protects what ever item you're clamping from the vice itself.
