Vulcan XH558 Awesome Howl Sounds.

In the cold war, we would often see 4 Vulcans practicing the scramble, all 4 up in the air in under 2 mins from the shout.
Now, that was noisy and the ground truly shook. You felt it right in the pit of your stomach.. Awesome.

I love the sound of the Vulcan howl. Why someone hasn't taken the sound and made it into a digital sound file i don't know...best ring tone/notification sound ever

When I was younger I saw this beautiful piece of "Flying Realistate " 3 times, it's not just the sound, you felt it to the bone!

One of the, if not the best looking, sounding and beautiful aircraft ever built. British aeronautical engineering at its very best.

I well never be able to get enough of this sound. It's somewhere between a whale and death incarnate. I'm glad it was never used in anger, but still, just imagine: The troops fall back, you think you're winning because in the last few days you've taken three times the land you took in the last year. All is quiet until you hear the distant sound of a dragon dropping down to where the air is thicker, then nothing as it climbs back to 56000 feet. Moments later the last thing you see is a new sun, and the last they see of you is your shadow as everything else is bleached by the light. You are vapour before you even realise you're in pain, let alone that your injuries are fatal.

During the Falkland war, one of these flew in during the middle of the night, bombed the shit out of a runway and took off. I can't even image what the poor sods at the airport must have went through...they must have collectively shit their pants.

I remember this unearthly howel from RAF Leuchars when I was a kid on holiday in St Andrews.

I've experienced this, it's imposing, those wings and that sound, you don't expect them to go together.
