Love the wall change, not a fan of losing the molly as a signature. seems like they are only doing it because they dont want more heal on pnx with the new regen armor.

Can riot stop making ranked-stomper characters or buffing pre-existing ones? These changes are nice in the context of pro play, but this is just gonna contribute to the boring comps in ranked rn where it’s literally only double duellist+clove comps.

To me it looks like Phoenix heals the missing armor, not gives you extra armor. So you'd only be able to heal 25 from your reserve if you bought light armor or all 50 if you bought full armor.

i’m hearing people speculate the reaerve armor is limited to 125 at a time, so it’s regenning light armor that still leaves you vulnerable to phantom headshot and outlaw

Sliggy, very nice video. I loved how you explained your thought in this, i think pheonix flash is gonna be very strong, especially for the players that know how and when to use it. The armor im not quite sure on, but i think its when you take damage, after some time that armor will replenish once again. Phoenix was my first main. Once I got ranked, I stopped playing him because even just Reyna is a better option. But now, Phoenix is super viable in competitive. I love Riot.

well imo pheonix was always decent in ranked
if you knew how to use it you had everything you need
smokes, molly, flashes, healing and an extra live every 3 rounds
the wall also lasts longer than you need to defuse the spike which was always kind of funny bc ppl would sometimes try to wait out my wall in a postplant bc they didnt know that it stays up that long bc no one plays pheonix
this happened a few times to me in immortal btw so pls dont tell me that stuff only works in low elo bc thats just wrong it works in almost every rank

Based on the wording of “New Shield Type”, the regen shields might not be exclusive to Phoenix, and instead is some type of new shield anyone can buy. The question then becomes the price and is the reserve triggered off getting a kill like he does in the video or when you receive some healing from any source.

They probably have to change it to 7 orbs now if not even 8 tbh

The shield is apparently a new universal mechanic all agents have so not exclusive. I saw some people around saying it was OP, but I think the drawback with the stim pack shield thing is that maybe it costs more than or equal to heavy shields. As we can see, the armor is 25 so maybe its basically light armor that can regen, so phantom dink can still kill etc etc. so you have to pick between having 50 shield with full armor or 25 shield + 50 regen of shield/hp? Im not sure if it is also healing the raw HP or just shield.

I'd imagine sage might recieve a buff that also makes her more valuable so maybe she can regen shields? Since evidently they are willing to go in that direction with the Reyna buff and this new shield type. Just guessing though

Just an FYI, the Phoenix changes will be in patch 9.10 not 9.08. So it'll be another month before we get these ingame.

What a dogshiit update. This is an fps game where you need to use various agents and their abilities hence they should be balanced and then it depends on people's strategy how to use them. Why are we making agents broken and turning this game into something else. Neon is already unbalanced and makes it feel im not even playing an fps game more like some bs overwatch or Fortnite.

It looks like the shield only went back up to 25(aka the shield value he started at).

I think for the cypher change he won’t be able to pick up his trips after placement during buy phase, similar to what they did with the viper orb. Idk what they’re gonna do with sage, maybe her heal will give players shield back? Her heal has been power-crept by agents like skye, reyna, phoenix, clove so I think it’d be a good change.
