Translation of The New Yorker lament: "Those of us who hoped the Catholic Church would adopt the doctrine of the Unitarian's were disappointed." Sorry dude. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say Pope Francis was a good Pontiff. The way these lefty networks and magazines are carrying on about him says a lot about his leadership over the past 12 years. You didn't see them project any of their hopes and dreams on Saint John Paul or Benedict, and the bash woman painting them out to be reactionaries while Francis was a: "Once in a century" kinda pope sort of validates the criticisms practicing Catholics levied against the man during his Papacy.
There's a lot of truth in the old adage about being able to tell a lot about a person by their friends and enemies. That said, expecting these people to speak intelligently about the Catholic Church would be lo like expecting me to write a paper on neurosurgical procedures. Some things ya can't just Google. Take what they say with a ton of salt then add another truckload for good measure. I'm not even sure why I clicked on this one, curiosity I suppose. What the media has to say about anything relating to Catholicism means as much to me as what Al-Jazeera has to say about Israel. But, I wasn't doing anything else at the moment so I thought I would tune in. I now know water is still wet.
The next Pope needs to have a better approach to Mexican cartels/smugglers, Tren de Aragua, Hamas, child sex traffickers, Houthis, etc: ✝✝✝
We wish to draw your attention, Venerable Brethren, to this distortion of the Gospel and of the sacred character of Our Lord Jesus Christ, God and man, prevailing within the Sillon and elsewhere. As soon as the social question is being approached, it is the fashion in some quarters to first put aside the divinity of Jesus Christ, and then to mention only His unlimited clemency, His compassion for all human miseries, and His pressing exhortations to the love of our neighbor and to the brotherhood of men. True, Jesus has loved us with an immense, infinite love, and He came on earth to suffer and die so that, gathered around Him in justice and love, motivated by the same sentiments of mutual charity, all men might live in peace and happiness. But for the realization of this temporal and eternal happiness, He has laid down with supreme authority the condition that we must belong to His Flock, that we must accept His doctrine, that we must practice virtue, and that we must accept the teaching and guidance of Peter and his successors. Further, whilst Jesus was kind to sinners and to those who went astray, He did not respect their false ideas, however sincere they might have appeared. He loved them all, but He instructed them in order to convert them and save them […]
Whilst His heart overflowed with gentleness for the souls of good-will, He could also arm Himself with holy indignation against the profaners of the House of God, against the wretched men who scandalized the little ones, against the authorities who crush the people with the weight of heavy burdens without putting out a hand to lift them. He was as strong as he was gentle. He reproved, threatened, chastised; knowing and teaching us that fear is the beginning of wisdom, and that it is sometimes proper for a man to cut off an offending limb to save his body.
Finally, He did not announce for future society the reign of an ideal happiness from which suffering would be banished; but, by His lessons and by His example, He traced the path of the happiness which is possible on earth and of the perfect happiness in heaven: the royal way of the Cross. These are teachings that it would be wrong to apply only to one's personal life in order to win eternal salvation; these are eminently social teachings, and they show in Our Lord Jesus Christ something quite different from an inconsistent and impotent humanitarianism.
Pope St Pius X, Our Apostolic Mandate "On the Sillonists," 25th August, 1910. ✝✝✝
Thank you for highlighting this mainstream media issue of ignorance and narrative. Please do more such always.
ОтветитьNevermind the media, other christian channels like The Babylon Bee basically chose to disrespect him and make satirical comments even despite his death
Don't even get me started on the joke that JD Vance apparently killed him
Pray for a God fearing, Bible reading, Tradition upholding, unifying, charitable pope
ОтветитьThank you, ❤️
ОтветитьCNN and the BBC are the biggest offenders for me in reporting Pope Francis' life after his death. I saw their video summaries in Instagram and they were so obviously using a lot of left-leaning rhetoric, from mentioning LGBT, to using the term "progressive pope"... I immediately scrolled quickly from it lol.
ОтветитьThank you. Thank you for doing you best to present the truth in a thoughtful and balanced manner.
ОтветитьIf Biden, Pelosi and the abortion mafia are “good” Catholics. I think I’ll keep my Protestant beliefs.
ОтветитьIt's the same with the BBC. They will not ask Catholics to explain the inner meaning of church events to them. They live in their own bubble, talking to those Catholics who happen to share their woke views and then pat themselves on the back and tell themselves what a good job they are doing.
ОтветитьLoving how the so-called "conservative" Catholics think loving the poor loving the most looked down and despised on in society is somehow progressive Catholicism
ОтветитьFrancis did NO good and a lot of bad…this false attempt at humility needs to end. None of the saints did this. They just spoke the truth. Whether it was Nicolas slapping Arias, or Catherine of Sienna stabilizing the papacy, or Joan of Arc holding her ground. Francis was the pope, even if he politicked his way in…..but not one serious Catholic can look themselves in the mirror and say that he served God. Its objective. He promoted a same-sex marriage priest for goodness sakes…..wake up. Honestly, I’m shocked and relieved that for once, Catholic Answers didn’t Pom Pom Francis the destroyer of all that is good and holy. Go Trad all the way and don’t apologize for it. That’s what the modernists want. For you to get on your knees and say sorry for your rad trad ideas. Don’t take the bait.
ОтветитьI listen to EWTN and Catholic answers everyday for decades . I've never heard any concern for climate change, not a peep about war crimes, crickets on economic inequality and exploitation, the mistreatment of refugees and immigrants, or any other of the Pope's priorities. It's like Trump is your Pope. This episode was disgusting. You guys learned nothing from Francis.
ОтветитьI’m not an expert on JP II but I never really heard people call a conservative like Benedict
ОтветитьI became Catholic partly because of all I have learned from Catholic answers, however, I see members putting their American Conservatism over their faith a lot and this episode especially. The value system that Catholic Answers displays is upside down from Pope Francis. You guys acknowledge the need for mercy and social justice but they have always taken a back burner on Catholic answers. True religion is caring for the widow and the orphan whether directly or indirectly thru supporting the government social safety net. When Trump or Vance contradict the Pope, who do you guys defend?
Ответитьwhatever NPR says, the truth is the opposite
ОтветитьI was under the impression that priests were given the authority to forgive the sin of abortion before Pope Francis?
ОтветитьBig Thank you guys!!!
ОтветитьThe pope has regularly been taken out of context by liberal and conservative factions inside and outside of the Latin Church. But that doesnt change the fact that he held and taught heresies. Not even the great popesplainer and prophet Michael Lofton can put the spin on this last pontificate or those that came before it.
ОтветитьPope Francis did the heresy of signing a document that allows Roman ministers to b[ess the s!n of homqse><ua| un!ons -- contradicting the Bible and Roman tradition. The only "distortion" going on is by Francis
ОтветитьR.I.P. popefrancis, ¡ THE WOKE POPE ! The PACHAMAMA popefrancis !
ОтветитьThank you for this. When I heard my local news channel talk about his life, I noticed that they distorted a lot of his life, actions, and words.
ОтветитьBlue state Blur
ОтветитьMainstream media distorting reality for their own version of it…. I never would’ve guessed.
ОтветитьFrancis did a lot of good, but hurt the cause by being overly political and ambiguous. If the Pope needs so-called PopeSplainers, which Francis often needed, then there is undeniably a problem. No one needed to explain a John Paul II. Or a Pope Benedict. I hope we get someone who speaks plainly like Cardinal Sarah.
ОтветитьDo you dispute any of this? What does the Bible say about "popes"?
Top 10 Biblical Reasons the "pope" Is now Awaiting God's Wrath and Hell, According to the King James Bible
Note: These reasons are based solely on the doctrines and actions commonly associated with the office of the papacy, judged by the King James Bible—not personal attacks but scriptural examination.
1. He Preached a False Gospel
Galatians 1:8-9
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The Catholic Church teaches salvation by works, sacraments, and church tradition—contrary to the gospel of grace by faith alone in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 4:5).
2. He Claimed a Title That Belongs Only to God
Matthew 23:9
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
The Pope is called "Holy Father," a title Jesus reserves for God alone (John 17:11).
3. He Exalted Himself as Head of the Church Instead of Christ
Colossians 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
The Pope is falsely called the “Vicar of Christ” and acts as if he holds authority over the church—usurping Christ's exclusive role.
4. He Led People to Worship Idols and Mary
Exodus 20:4-5
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image… Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.
Catholicism promotes veneration of statues, Mary, and saints, which is idolatry.
5. He Rejected the Authority of Scripture Alone
Mark 7:13
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
By elevating tradition, papal decrees, and councils above the Word of God, he nullified the Scriptures.
6. He Promoted the Eucharist as Re-sacrificing Christ
Hebrews 10:10, 12
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.
The Catholic mass claims to offer Jesus again and again, which denies the finality of His one sacrifice.
7. He Claimed Power to Forgive Sins
Mark 2:7
Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
Catholic priests and popes claim authority to absolve sin—blasphemy against God’s exclusive right.
8. He Declared the Catholic Church as the Only True Church
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body...
The true church is the Body of Christ, composed of born again believers—not a religious institution.
9. He Did Not Believe the Record God Gave of His Son
1 John 5:10-12
He that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
By denying salvation by grace through faith alone in Jesus, he rejected God's record.
10. He Died Without Being Born Again
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
The Pope trusted in sacraments, works, and a false church—not in the new birth through faith in Christ alone.
Conclusion
Unless the Pope repented and believed the true gospel of Jesus Christ before his death, he is under God's wrath.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
There's a huge temptation to redefine important figures for our own purposes, including Christ himself. This is why we must rely on tradition, scriptures, and the writings of church doctors.
Ответитьhe WAS NOT inclusive!!!
ОтветитьOnce again, you nailed it. M
ОтветитьThe CNN reporter's analysis shows a serious problem in the U.S. in the 21st Century: We are hyper-politicized and view the world through those lenses.
We see not only our government but our entertainment, friends, family, actions, and even devotion to God through those lenses. It is as if whatever policy or political movement you hold to is your god rather than God himself.
Remember, God has existed before and will exist after all political parties and governments.
Good video
ОтветитьDana Bash is Jewish. So I'm not sure how that may lean her report.
ОтветитьBut also the Church failings over the centuries have consequences. The ignorance of the media is in part due to the loss of credibility in the church
ОтветитьI agree about the ignorance of the media when it comes to politics or even reporting on the Catholic Church. Reminds me of the time I was watching hockey on TV and they were referring to each "period" as a "quarter", or the sweaters on the players as "jerseys". These minor oversights just in the game of hockey, highlights the announcers ignorance of the sport of hockey.
And I think the media's ignorance of the Catholic Church gets passed along to people through the reporting, and then the person hearing the news develops a misunderstanding or ignorance of the Catholic Church. And you see this a lot on chat forums and social media.
New Yorker had the best take! Others sounded like they based their opinion of him on a few sound bites without looking at the bigger picture.
ОтветитьKinda wild that a man who lamented the presence of frociaggine in the Church several times in "inclusive."
ОтветитьHas the SSPX lost those faculties of hearing confessions now that the Pope is dead? The same thing about priests being able to forgive abortions and not reserved to the Apostolic See?
ОтветитьGood Video
ОтветитьThe Devil is always in the details. He never sleeps. He’s always using something against the truth. The msm wants to make it look like Pope Francis endorses them. It’s a lie and a trick. It’s called propaganda. Like the Nazis.
ОтветитьGood video
ОтветитьGlad I have you guys for this stuff. I only watch CA Live and EWTN for news. God bless, protect and prosper this apostolate!
