B12 is formed by bacteria in the soil, animal get it by eating Grass, vegetarians/vegans take a B12 supplement! And even cows get B12 supplement in their feed because they are not let out to eat grass.

Dr. Michael clapper sad animals don’t have the vitamins they eat the grass that has the vitamins. Many meat eaters are deficient in vitamin B as well.

I don’t know what this dr is thinking saying that B12 is essentially impossible to get on a vegetarian or vegan diet, b12 is in oatmilk, in vegan derived supplements, and they put vegan B12 in many energy drinks.

I am going vegan and know very little about it, but if horses and cows are so strong just from eating grass, that answer the question that you don’t need meat, it is just media and money driven bull.

From what I understand, B12 supplement is effective and water soluble vitamin. You can check with your doctor and probably pop a B12 supplement as the doctor recommends.

Well that doctor is not correct about vitamin b12, that eating some form of meat is the only way to get v12, GOD GREW US SEEDS, PLANTS AND HERBS TO EAT AS FOOD, DOESNT GOD KNOW BETTER THAN THE DOCTOR? I believe CREATOR GOD KNOWS BETTER THAN HIM. ALSO PEOPLE LIKE THE DOCTOR MOST ARE DEEP STATE PUPPETS THAT GOT THERE DOCTERET AT A SATANIC UNIVERSITY. AND WERE BRAINWASHED TO BELIEVE IN CREATOR GOD ALMIGHTY BUT BELIEVE IN THERE god not the REAL GOD CREATOR.

Many people who eat meat are deficient in vitamin B12 aswell. We should all be eating more B12. Also as of January 1, 2020, scientists have discovered a naturally occurring, plant-based source of B12. Water lentils (or duckweed) appear to have a sufficient source of B12.

The source of B12 in the animal products is from B12 supplemented feeds! This is so funny. Mammals have to consume B12, they don’t produce it. Mammals such as cows, pigs, chickens get B12 in their bodies from supplementation because the soil/etc has been stripped of the nutrients needed to have it natively in plants. There is nothing wrong with a vegan simply supplementing with either B12 fortified foods or B12 supplements themselves. We’re mammals. I happen to be on a whole food plant based diet to deal with heart disease, but I’m not a “ONLY THIS DIET IS RIGHT” zealot. That said, the B12 comment the doctor made is a little misleading. That said, because the meat food industry does supplement their animals with B12, it is true that if you eat meat, you’ll get your B12. If you don’t eat meat, you’ll need to eat B12 fortified foods or take B12 directly. Easy to do.

Well, I suppose we did hear some recommended foods for protein sources but we also got to hear the guests take some unnecessary shots at eating a plant based diet along with some of their disinformation about vitamin B12. Forget the cheese-for 1 mozzarella string cheese (28gms) you get about 7 grams of protein but you can easily get that much protein from other veggie/seed sources. What about needing some extra protein if a person works out? I think the necessary amount would go up if one wants to put on more muscle.

Protein bars are trash. Too many carbs and sugars. I don’t care what brand. The keto brand one tastes like cardboard. 🤮 and costs way too much

This guy straight up lied. B12 doesn’t come from animals it’s produced by bacteria that live in the soil and water. Animal flesh contains it because farmers feed their slaves B12 supplements.

Just like calcium, B12 comes from a bacteria found In healthy soil. If a cow eats grass all its life, it will also ingest the bacteria (hence b12). It the cow is force-fed / only option is corn, then the cow has no way of eating the bacteria from the healthy soil. That's why people (meat eaters inuded) MAY need a supplement.

I use to be a "meat and potatoes" girl (meat, meat, and more meat...make my steak rare) and my b12 levels (via blood test) was so low for years that I needed to get b12 prescription injections at my doctor's office every few months!
Now, as a vegan / strict vegetarian, my b12 is in the healthy / safe range (shown via blood tests).

B12 is abundant in things like nutritional yeast and certain veggies. I take Ritual brand supplements, too.

Yes, you can't get B12 without a supplement, but if you compare what supplements whole food plant based eaters need with those who eat other diets, B12 and D are about it, while quite a few other supplements are often needed in a SAD diet.
