IR4 VISA

On October 03, 2023, I underwent an interview at the U.S. Consulate in connection with my IR1 visa application. Unfortunately, I faced a 10-year bar due to a conviction in 2009 for a crime involving moral turpitude under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). I was also removed from the USA a decade ago as a result of this conviction.

During the interview, the consular officer inquired about my conviction, and I provided a truthful and comprehensive account of the situation. Subsequently, the officer requested court and police documents related to my case. Regrettably, I explained that I did not possess these documents at the time. In response, the officer issued a 221(g) form, outlining the need for court and police records, and retained my passport. On the same day, I promptly submitted the requested documents to the consulate.

To my dismay, today, I received my passport back without a visa, and I have not received any formal refusal explanation.

The Status at (NVC): A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please see the letter you received at the interview.

I kindly request guidance and assistance in navigating this situation.

We are an LGBTQ couple, I am the U.S. Citizen and my partner holds a Russian passport. We applied for a K1 visa back in April and we are still waiting for a reply on that. In the meantime we applied for a tourists visa for him to visit the U.S. and was denied twice. Any information you can share or provide so that he can come to the U.S. for a visit while we await our K1 decision. Thank you I’m advance for your time and assistance.

Hi Mandy! Thank you so much for your videos, it certainly helps to be a bit more prepared for what’s coming at that interview (mine is next week)! Speaking of things that Visa Officers know at the time of the interview, do you know whether the history of applying for Green Card Lottery is visible to them? I did once for fun around 3 or 4 years ago, and now I am uncertain whether I will need to mention it or talk about it at all? Thank you very much for your help and have a wonderful day! Mila

Hi,

I’m in a confused situation. Looking for your help.
1. I have my new passport only and I don’t have the old passport. Is it mandatory to have the old passport also for B1 visa interview??
2. I did my international travel (Singapore, Malaya)with my old passport which is not there with me. So will the consulate officer get to know my old passport details and see them? As I have mentioned in Ds-160 option as no for international travel.

Looking for your thoughts

Hello Mandy, thank you for your lovely channel and useful info!❤

I have a question, if you don’t mind. Do you think that transferring the case from the fiancé’s consulate of residency to the one of citizenship can cause delays in the process? The consul already approved the request via email to accept me (I’m the fiancé), and advised to contact USCIS for case relocation.

Thank you 🙏

Hi mam, wish you good health. On my interview for Tourist visa, how would i answer the questions as follows:
I have denied twice. 1st is lack of economic ties when my mother was sick with cancer last 2011. Then the 2nd one admistrative issues. I really don't know the reason. It is in DS-160 that i have in US last 1989 up to 1994 but not legally. I came through mexico. We were stopped by immigration officer. To make it short, we were allowed to stay in US with our relatives until the case of the one who brought us in US is finished. We were made material witness that time.
One more thing is i have an immigrant interview coming but due to visa backlog, i cannot predict when.

My reason for the visit is to see my grandsons. 7 yrs and 2 yrs old. I haven't met them for 7 yrs now. I just want to have a quality time with them. Anyway if my interview is scheduled during my stay, i could go home right away. That is more important. Thank you for any tips you give me. 😍

Visa approval or disapporvel thier right. but at least to speak clearly with applicants. My file was very strong but i was worry that reason for disapproval may be i asked her to repeat her questions.

Dear mandy
my father was a US citizen and we began the obtaining of a green card for me and my brother in 2011. In 2018 after the travel ban on Iranian citizens we had our interview and they did not give us a clear answer. There was no acceptance nor rejection and not even a clearance status. A few months later in 2019 my father passed away sadly and then we announced that update to the US government and withdrew from the process.
Now I have obtained admission from the University of North Texas for a Ph.D. studentship position and I am wondering how can I lower the chances of being rejected by the officer.
My mother is not in good shape medically and she has a medical record showing her bad health condition. I also own an apartment here in Iran to my name. and I truly do not intend to remain in the USA after my studies.
what is your suggestion for my case?
thanks in advance.

Hi Mandy, all your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much for that.
I have a unique scenario which I guess very few people face during their immigration journey.
I have a concurrently filed GC petition (I-140 premium, I-765, I-131, I-485) by a company for future employment which was filed in 2021 and has been pending for more than 2years now. In-between my application was transferred to Field Office where I attended an Interview and got a RFE which was responded on Jan 2023. Recently I was informed by the company that there is a "Intent to Revoke Notice" on the I-140. The company has responded to the NOIR and USCIS received the documents few days back.
I came to U.S in 2016 and graduated in 2018. I started working with my currently Employer with OPT EAD since 2019 and got my H1B in 2022. I am still with my employer and planning to go for H1B Stamping. I am aware that H1B is a dual intent visa and my pending petition is for future employment from different company.
Will the pending petition and the status of "Intent to Revoke" on I-140 create any issue for my H1B interview?
Should I wait for the decision on the pending petition or it's ok to go for H1B stamping?
How long do you think will take for USCIS to make a decision on my pending petition?
Your insight will be very helpful 🙂

Thank you again for your dedication. 🙂
