May I mention something constructive? Neiman is so upbeat and positive. Lauren appears less so. She is also short with him and I don’t understand why. Lauren, please be nicer to Neiman and smile. Act like you enjoy what you’re doing, instead of acting like everything is a such a burden. Just saying.
Ответитьare you ok? you look sad
ОтветитьI prefer special and unique furniture and decor. Quality vintage pieces beat the poor quality goods pumped into the market now. Its also feels good to save trees.
Btw, those furnitre prices are not bad compaired to retail. You are just used to getting some incredibly deals!
Do you ever do lamps????
ОтветитьI liked the dining room table w/built in leaf & chairs just the way they were.
ОтветитьLove the wisdom and personal experience. Thank you!
ОтветитьTrying to do the chair flips and getting nervous on thrift purchases. How do I know if water stains and unknown yellowing stains will come out of white courdouroy? Yikes!
ОтветитьIf your not sure on table style it’s best to be simple and timeless
ОтветитьDude, the lady was not OLD! geez 😮
ОтветитьBasically, most of my furniture and decor is Thrifted/Charity store/ 2nd hand buys.
Why buy for thousands when you can buy really good quality furniture for 10's of dollars or pounds sterling upto a few hundred instead of thousands! Makes sense and save the rest you've saved!
I work at a thrift store, and in their defence, they are trying to survive the high cost of doing business. You complained at the high price for a dresser, yet you're willing to take a $15 chair from them and resell it for $175?? That's quite a mark-up, and you're not really investing in improvements to the chair! I know the store I work at in Phoenix pays around 5k a month in summer for just the AC bill, not counting, rent, payroll, taxes, insurance, utilities, and much more! People abandon tons of junk furniture, garbage outside the store everyday and it cost $$ to have it hauled to the dump. All said, everyone is in business to make money, including the thrift store!
ОтветитьOhhh lord i wish my country had a place like this!!!❤❤❤
ОтветитьButtons can be recovered easily
ОтветитьHey! Not Van Gogh, it’s Edward Munch! Thought you’d wanna know! You two are fabulous! May blessings flow!
Ответить🌹🌹🌹
ОтветитьThat print was Edvard Munch “The Scream” not a Van Gogh. Thanks for a great video!
ОтветитьThere's always room. lol Nieman!
ОтветитьIt's not Van Gogh, but Edvard Munch(The Scream)😁💗
ОтветитьAw, i used to hit New Life Thrift a lot!
ОтветитьThe green chair just needs a button cover! You get them at sewing supply stores. Thats how they made the buttons to begin with. Just steal a bit of fabric from somewhere else on the chair.
ОтветитьGood thrifting! I love this - I'm shooting a restoration video right now. A Mid-century bar cabinet. Stay tuned 🙂
ОтветитьI’m a sucker for anything with cane
ОтветитьMy husband just walked by and said “are you watching someone shop?” I told him “yes, thrift stores, in Omaha, I’ve never been to Omaha!” Lol y’all have some good stuff up there. I’m in Alabama and our stores aren’t the best. The antique stores are really expensive here but have the best stuff. Thrift stores here are usually more dishes, lamps, small furniture, clothes and Knick knacks.
ОтветитьI love that table and chairs. Beautiful. Dining sets are usually always in great shape
ОтветитьWe bought a new home awhile back and previous home furnishings didn’t go with our new house. I am a real estate photographer and get a lot of deals and free stuff from people moving. I just furnished my sons house at college that way and thrift stores. All really cool items. Real Leather couch set with recliner had the cool stitching, Lane furniture $100 came from a house that the homeowners were downsizing and not going to have a movie/game room at the new house. The furniture had barely been used. So it can be done, you have to know what you need, have patience and look around. Family yard sales are great too and they usually start on Thursday or Friday afternoon.
ОтветитьFYI - That picture was not a VanGogh. That painting was done by Edward Munch in 1893. It’s called “The Scream”.
ОтветитьRe: the missing button. I think it’s just the top “shell” of a covered button. Go to Joanne’s with the measurement and buy a covered button. I think you will need to glue and sew. Am
Nd I’d love a video. About how you met and your relationship.
I have a genuine Victorian chest of drawers. The drawers are deep and wide I can get so much in it . Have had it for years .
ОтветитьIs the area not a very good one for furniture ?
ОтветитьI am from the uk and will never buy anything brand new . That includes furniture . I hate paying full price when I can get things at charity shops ❤
ОтветитьYou seriously charged your grandma! You’re a jerk.
ОтветитьYou dodged a huge bullet with that Intercon table at the end. They look beautiful, but try to add a leaf and it's all downhill...gaps with the leaves are considered withn vendor tolerance and you would have to adjust the rails to make the leafs work without gapping. A lot of work!!
ОтветитьGo to the back of “Homes For Humanity if you have one near you as they throw away perfectly good furniture and beautiful rugs too!! Never shop in their stores! Far too expensive!!
ОтветитьThose two shelving units are not even solid wood! Step away! You want good solid wood! I would go to our refuse tips (Garbage dumps) and get furniture to flip for a few pounds..
ОтветитьThe first partical shelves were likely an entertainment center - missing the middle pc that goes over the tv.
ОтветитьI work at thrift America 72nd and blondo
ОтветитьI 😂😂😂 at we need to wash your hands for sure. She pays him no attention lol.
ОтветитьIf I had a house, I would absolutely be getting that large table and chairs! Solid wood and sturdy. A table like that will last a lifetime.... or multiple even
ОтветитьAt some thrift stores, their prices are often getting close to what they'd sell for after they've been refurbished. I don't see this trend working out for them in the long run though, especially with the economy tightening. I think more people are going to start either hanging onto what they have longer, fixing up what they have or selling rather than donating items. As for the TV/entertainment centers, they might not sell well for those flipping furniture, but I've seen people do some really cool dress-up stations, kitchenettes etc. for kids and donate them to local charity sales and they've done really well. Tax write off for the donor and money for the charity plus it keeps the piece out of the landfill and you can often get them for nothing. Some people are talented enough to completely disassemble them and turn them into something completely different too, but I'm not that creative! I have to get ideas from people like you!
ОтветитьEasy to recover the button w/fabric taken from a seam on the skirt (especially since u remove it!). You can buy a new button to cover from a fabric store (if that one is missing the top metal dome; they come in 2 parts). Easy-peasy.
ОтветитьThat $35 buffet or credenza woulda made a great coffee bar!
Later coulda resold to a business as their cash-out stand.
I shop at New Life Thrift. Very reasonable. I shop for older family and friends who are on tight budgets. Resellers in there ALWAYS. Sad.
ОтветитьYour Local Charity Stores are generally better to buy from. More competitive prices, local charities so your helping your own community and have better pricing for delivery. 😊🇬🇧
ОтветитьUse the skirt on the button!
ОтветитьEver thought of reupholstering? I can teach ya
ОтветитьThe lady in this video seems like a real cheapie and trying to get those green chairs at a wrong price lol!!!!!!
Ответитьshe knew good and well they weren't $30 for the pair...
ОтветитьI dont understand why you wojkd pay 80.00 for those book shelves but not 130.00 for that beautiful dresser. I would have numped on that!
ОтветитьThe chain thrift stores vary upon location. Some are better than others. I love thrifting!!
