I never heard it till now but the riff that's underneath the Solo is literally a KISS style riff, it's got a ZZ TOP feel too but definitely KISS. goes to show how much KISS really had a an influence on Dime's Playing

About the tuning: I think you can achieve the "right" tuning if you tune to 425Hz instead of 440Hz (if you have a tuner that lets you choose this). This applies to the D standard songs as well - tune do D standard, but using the 425Hz references.
I found a lot of songs that use the same tuning reference (or 432Hz, another popular one) - "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica (tried to play it with the record and it sounded like ass because of the tuning), "In the flesh" by Pink Floyd (surprisingly...)

This song does good on 432 tuning and 435 hz

A=427hz E standard
