Google Podcasts: BEST app replacements!

YTM podcast is.... REALLY HORRIBLE! I think you were a little to nice on the positives. Google Podcasts only exported about 30 percent of my podcasts to YTM. You can't add from the web app and have to use the phone/tablet app. Huh? Just downloaded AntennaPod and so far I like it. YTM podcasts - i'll check back in a couple of years to see if they have provided the same functionality as GP. Ugh.

Soon to be named, Gogle..... because it got rid of an O. Screw that company from now on!

I don't get it. For example, I live in a country where Yt music is not available. Google Podcasts was always available and I remain with 0 alternatives.

listening history, and manual listening queue, are the most important features , editing the queue - could be a great feature to add to google podcasts

I could only got in podcast because of Google podcast... everything I am trying now is such pain in the ass that if I found these before, I would just avoid podcast all together

thanks useful! I've just downloaded Antenna and it looks like what I need, all the simplicity of google podcasts, no pointless bells and whistles, also gets BBC content, so good alternative to BBC sounds maybe.

Maybe a good chance to break away from Google more. RIP GPodcasts, hello AntenaPod!

ughhhh. was going to go to spotify since they were already holding joe rogan hostage but since I cant bring other RSS feeds into that platform, i´d rather just find another no simple interface app dedicated to podcasts

Was a dedicated GP user. I tried a few and there were no bad ones that I tried but settled on Aurelian. It is the closest to GP in my view. Very simple to learn after making the switch.

I think there are some places where google should listen to us.

Google's enshittification of their services continues but their replacements are awesome. Thank you so much for recommending AntennaPod - it's exactly what I'm looking for.

Google podcast has support to add rss feeds. So in theory you could use it without googles servers but google wants you to login to add a rss subscription

I love Google podcasts too. Loosing it soon.

I had been using podbean for some time, but always had problems with played state and sync tabs performance. More trying out pocket cast and think I found a new home.
If there was a one time "payment" I would pay, but not open for subscription.

It stopped working for like 1 day now the podcast app is working again. Guess they realized that alot of podcasts haven't moved to YT music yet ....I dunno

Google Podcast had a really nice aesthetic.

I've recently discovered Antenna app and I'm giving it a chance, but I'm still attached to Podurama. By the way, I saw you installed it but didn't mention in the video. Why?

Googles entire mission and prime directive is to send you down a rabbit hole and keep you clicking. I stopped using most of their products because of this. They are all just a massive waste of time. I couldn't imagine using a podcasting app made by them. Castbox is a good enough podcasting app, unfortunately they don't have a watch version so I'm in the market for a replacement.

Not a fan of the combination because it loses track where I am at in a podcast. Say I'm on podcast 400 out of 800. If I listen to a song and go back to podcast, I then have to scroll for a minute just to get back to where I was at.

YT Music for podcasts sucks. It won't let you select date order for listening to the casts.
