Holy crap!! This is the very best video I have ever seen on this hobby!!! Very well done, man!!!
Are you OK if I link to you on my Channel?
My viewers often ask about many different aspects of virtual pinball and you pretty much nail 'em all here!!
Bro - your channel is about to BLOW THE *&^% UP!!!!
GREAT video!
Great video. Really appreciate this and all the links.
My wife and I well into our 50s downsized to a historic apartment in the city where we work and live.
That equated to downsizing our electromechanical arcade and video game collection that included several pinball machines.
The remodel is almost complete and house will be listed soon.
Although I was never interested in in virtual pins before. This would be the perfect project to complement the limited amount of video arcades I have remaining.
Grew up at the end of EM and the golden age of arcade. Once it’s in your blood…it’s hard to let it go.
I have been going back and forth on buying a solid state pin but this video maybe pushing me into virtual since I have restored and refurbished many EMs and electronic arcades.
There’s just something about creating or repairing something that always gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Thanks again for posting and beautiful job on the Virtual Pin!
Can I have a free pinball table? Thanks.
ОтветитьI follow you from Milan to Italy
ОтветитьThanks for the free game at the end of the vid 😉
God I love that sound!
How much to build a pinball dedicated to all the rock n metal bands that did machines
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your expertise!
ОтветитьAmazing video, many thanks if may I ask since I watched I m trying to find more information about the hd matrix like wiring diagram controller board and how to interface with visual pinball but can’t find a tutorial please any information will be very appreciated
Matthew
Where can i buy one of those iron maiden in Portugal? Many thanks
ОтветитьYou’ve inspired me to build one!
ОтветитьPrice wise? You will be in it for about the same regardless of building one, or modding an a1u or atgames pinball. Its all about how far you are willing to go with it really.. plus as said in this video, just go for it. This is the internet, there are more instructional and help sites than there are cat videos i assure you.
Ответитьmust.... build.... virtual pinball....
ОтветитьWhat software is used for the Pinball games? On steam?
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks!
ОтветитьHumm i dont recommend linking thepinballking in description. Hes a known pack seller and has also cyber attacked and hacked pinball content creators. Hes been a pain to the hobby for a long time now. Him and retroplay from australia. 2 of the worse people that abuse the hobby for monetary gains. If you dont beleive me ask around in the forums. You will quickly see what i mean. I wouldnt not want to associate myself with him if i were you. Just for that im not clicking like or subscibe. Let me know if you change it and i will. But i fear it may be the case for most of us in the hobby.
ОтветитьI am back. Great Video. Who would you recommend for a Plug and Play high end unit in the USA?
ОтветитьHello Jeremy. Thanks for your video.
I am new to this VPin. I own a custom designed gaming pedestal. Can I ask why you don’t recommend MDF cabinet material. Seems like people have used MDF to build cabinets.
Otherwise what material do you recommend to have used.
Lastly I will not be able to build my own or even use a kit. What would you say is the best place to get a custom build. Thanks
It's worth it if you buy the model with the full sized playfield. The shortened playfields are an insult to the sport of pinball I know a couple of real pinball machines also have shortened playfields but they were mistakes. Former 6 time world pinball champion.
ОтветитьThis is such a helpful video, thank you! Subscribed
ОтветитьGreat video with very helpful resources! Thanks! Subscribed and liked!
ОтветитьGreat video. I have been watching Way of the Wrench for years. His videos are the best. Thanks for mentioning him. He has done lots to contribute to this hobby. Oh and I did subscribe
ОтветитьTerrific Video. I am finishing up my Arcade Cabinet thanks to ArcadeOne, Rec Room Masters, & Pixelcade. I want to add a virtual pinball but may look for something pre-assembled.
ОтветитьI'm just gonna buy one...🤘🏼💯✔️
ОтветитьHow is this the first time I’ve heard of you? This was so good on so many levels. I really appreciate your respect for the community at large, and specifically the creators of the tables (and to Stern and other manufacturers who have agreed to let this continue). Subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more!
ОтветитьEh it’s alright it’s a pain in the ass to build though .I did mine years ago and this is way before it became a trend like everything else.. but with this project I’m glad to say not many can actually do it and make it look good. I didn’t have much help bcuz the ones demonstrating how to build it leave out crucial details. Now these new videos show that they have way less things inside the vr pinball as opposed to mine . I’m a neat freak with wires and placement but to me in looks like crap this video that shit looked less hectic and super clean. So the feeling of accomplishment is probably more so then having it. It’s fun at first and def when people come through but it’s more novelty than anything. U have to really love pinball machines. The other pro is this video dsnt show that 3d imagery to the table. If u have that I will say that shits dope in comparison to the reg set up almost looks like a real pinball with the toys. I personally prefer the real thing . Eventually I’ll get one but the con to owning one is more costly then building one. I like arcades and built me one as well but again I like to OG ones it’s nostalgic for me bcuz growing up in the 80’s that’s what was in playing on the cr tvs . I like my arcade build and bcuz I can fix arcades I’m thankful I got some arcades for cheap. If u really love to build things and up for a long challenge and do love pinball then it might be something for you I’d say good luck it’s a beautiful sight to see like homeboy said when u add the lights and to b honest the DMD put 2 screens in the backbox or u can make it 3 or have one big one and split the screen image on the computer. U literally can make it how u want u can even put the lights on top of the back box Police light on pinball cab skies really the limit .. this is a koo video also after seeing this I can re mod mine so it’s less hectic but idk how it’ll work might have to start from scratch bcuz there’s just sooo many diff things wired up to my I/O boards and etc.. anyways again respect on the video and to anyone doing this good luck 👍
Ответитьdoes anyone know a good seller here in the UK?
ОтветитьHumble and nice. It felt like a friend was giving me advice. The way of the wrench guy did an amazing job too with those pinball videos. I watched them for fun and for tips and improvements on my machine, although my approach was completely different than his.
ОтветитьGreat video. I am not handy at all. I have looked around and think I found the best seller for a plug and play VP.
ОтветитьI have a Full Sized VP Cabinet that my Computer died on. I do not have the knowledge or desire to take the time to fix it. The Cabinet is in Excellent Condition and has a lot of the needed hardware you mentioned for a DIY Build. Do you have any recommendations of where I could sell it? I live in Las Vegas, and obviously can't ship it, so I've tried Facebook, but looking for more of a "Targeted" audience. Any suggestions are appreciated.
ОтветитьThis was a fantastic overview. I would love to see you take a crack at the "Vertical Arcade Project". Please just Google that. It's basically identical to the virtual pinball, but it's for standup arcade games. It takes a 16 x 9TV play field and turns it in portrait mode to host the entire games artwork on it. They have links to plans to build on their site in the resources section. I think you will really appreciate this project.
ОтветитьYou have a Cleveland Software Design discount code coming soon? Will be paying attention for that!
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks fors sharing the knowledge
ОтветитьI've always been a pinball fanatic, with dreams of owing my own (or several) pinball tables. Unfortunately, living in a townhouse greatly reduces the space I have to make that dream a reality. About 9 months ago, while making a Costco run, I noticed they had an "Arcade1up, Star Wars" Vpin for sale. Being as I have a love for both "Star Wars" and Pinball and the fact that it was a 3/4 size build, best suited for my limited space requirments, I figured what the hell, lets give it a go. I WAS HOOKED! Within a month I had gone on Amazon and added the "Attack from Mars" Arcade1up table to my collection. At that point I began watching videos and reading subReddits for both pinball and virtual pinball and I knew what I wanted to do. My plan is to completely overhaul my "Star Wars" machine with every possible "Star Wars" table ever created. For my "AFM" table, I plan on turning it into a machine that can play every other vpin table created. I want to do everything, from upgrading the playfield monitor to a 4K, 120hz display, to adding a back glass monitor, to installing a dedicated cpu/gpu to each table and adding SSF and DOF to both. I have the funds to make this happen, but I have yet to begin the process, out of fear of inexperience and not wanting to screw anything up. Your video has motivated me to want to get off the couch of dreaming and move to the pilots chair of making it a reality. Hopefully I can make this dream come true and be able to be proud of what I have accomplished, just like I can see in you in your video. The pride in accomplishment you have with your Vpin build, is so motivating! If you can point me in the direction of where you gained your best knowledge to make that happen, I would be extremely grateful! You have absolutely earned a new subscriber today!!
ОтветитьSubscribed, Go Noles!
ОтветитьWow! This is amazing😂! This really helped😊🙌.
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьTheCraftyCatsman,
I love Virtual Pinball and have always wanted something easy to put together and truly plug and play without breaking the bank. I tried solutions like Toyshock, Arcade1Up and AtGames (HD Legends), but the limiting factor to me was they lacked the 3 screens I wanted and didn't have all the tables I wanted. I'm not a builder, not interested in doing that anymore at my age, and going the boutique route for plug n play has always been too expensive for me, plus these systems are often larger and heavier than I'd like. But I finally found a kit that has scratched that itch for me and many like me and that's with AtGames again with their new 4KP. It of course, has it's own ecosystem with built in and purchasable tables, but I got it for it's integrated plug n play for PC. It has 3 screens (Playfield is 4K, Backglass, and DMD) all with HDMI ports on the back clearly labeled for the screens, all ready to plug and play, no fuss, no muss. And they do offer an SSF kit, and though I think it's cool, I've never needed that level of immersion. I got this system all for $1,100. They now sell for $1,500, but for what you get, this is still the best bang for buck I've ever seen for a fully plug n play system out the box. It also comes in 2 pieces (well, you do have to attach the 4 legs), so all you need to do is connect the Backbox and Body and you're ready to go! And to expand, just plug in the PC with your Pinball software of choice, normal software configuration, and that's it.
I think there's a system for everyone, but I've never seen anything as cost effective as the new AtGames 4KP. And yes, if one wants to hook up a PC, that's an extra cost, but like you, I want to have access to any table I want. This is a nice balance for me.
Great video!
vgv
Excellent video. Great info and very helpful for all.
Thank you
I just built my cab using gameroomsolutions. Probably one of the better ckst effective option IMO.
ОтветитьExcellent video. Very detailed and clear. Thanks.
ОтветитьIf you actually need a "gaming" computer to run this, then it is programmed horribly. There is no reason why a Ryzen CPU with latest builtin graphics and little RAM would not be able to handle this task. (OK, the older ones couldn't play CS1.6 at 120Hz, so only the latest are to be considered.)
I'd assume the largest expense would be the actual display. Is it just a TV turned on its side? Unfortunately, most matrix types would look horrible in that particular position, that is where the extra care should be taken.
Great informative video! 👍
