Low settings on everything at only 1080p and barely 60fps? Was just abouts to buy and saw this, glad i did!!! Wow i thought for the cost it would be atleast high and 40fps!!! Useless

How can I check were if I have z1 extreme?

So this thing SHOULD be able to output to a 1080p monitor just fine, and allow portable gaming right? I'm more interested in the beastly processor to run things like Stellaris, Baldur's Gate 3 and some indie games, as well as emulation. I'm really thinking of getting this thing, my steam deck isn't QUITE cutting it for what I need.

This chip looks amazing in a small mini pc for travel with cable energy, would be cool seeing it there with max tdp and fast memory.

oh wow, 30w total cpu + gpu and you can run Forza in this handheld, with a normal PC you are going to waste no less than 200w GPU alone to run these games.

Interesting. Is there a way to set gpu and cpu power independently like steam deck. Im certain that ths cpu needs a lot less watts than it is getting in the demonstrations above as we are always gpu limited.

Cool! If this is really true, then it's great news in the portable console industry. But I have some comments about your test:

1. Why weren't the battery charge level data shown? If it's prohibited by NDA, then at least show it in percentages. Changing TDP almost by two times should significantly reduce the time to full battery discharge.

2. It's somehow alarming that changing TDP almost by two times almost doesn't affect the device's temperature. It's also very concerning that there's no data on the processor temperature. I think the exhaust from this device at maximum settings can send your pet flying to another planet :)

I'm really looking forward to this console, but we need to understand that we're talking about a portable device, where autonomy and temperature come first. If we look at the console as a replacement for a home PC, we already have Xbox and PS.

Portable emulation up to the PS3 and Xbox 360 all running smoothly is what I'm looking for. I'm hoping the ROG ally with the Z1 extreme can achieve that. If not, I'll continue to wait.
