I thought red dresses were what w-ores wore! Also, the red dress is a Handmaid's Tale reference, so that's reason #2 why Joel needs to talk about a different dress color. It is so common in conservative circles to hear this type of teaching. The other day, I read about a patriarch who wouldn't let his daughter continue in horse riding lessons without a skirt and a side saddle. He didn't want his daughter spreading her legs to mount a horse. THIS IS NOT THE GOSPEL!!!

Ephesians 5:25 is one of the most overwhelming commands in Scripture. I'm commanded to love my wife as Christ loved the Church. That is NOT telling her to wear a red dress or keep a clean house and mind the kids so I can smoke stogies and drink scotch with the men's group, or things I won't even mention here. We should be washing her feet! I don't even come close to loving my wife to that standard.

That Wilson family conversation (read: fight for air time) was a genuinely frustrating listening experience. I should not be surprised-the horrors always persist.

My take is everything Doug is doing now will be some subtle method of downplaying the Sons of Patriarchy podcast, because there is so much damning evidence being presented each week.

8 years ago, I dug into Wilson’s hero, Dabney. Then I confronted my friend who was moving to Moscow over Doug’s movement. It was easy then to see that this is where it was going.

I definitely see him going to Florida to team up with Tom Ascol and Founders Ministries. As well as try to get Tom Ascols Seminary off the ground more than it already is.

I thought for a minute he may try to go to Grace Bible Seminary in Conway.

This is funny because I remember reading Douglas Wilson's, 'Credenda agenda' many years ago and Doug said the opposite. He said if a husband won't do any of his obligations and everything falls apart then she must sit back and let it fall apart and not do anything to contradict her husband. Doug Wilson is not stable in his theology, he goes with whichever way the wind is blowing.
In fact, Douglas Wilson has referred to Abigail as a "submissive wife" and I remember my girlfriends and I laughed when we were reading it because the last person Abigail was submissive to was her husband

I also think it's funny that they are going after Wilson for his weight... I remember when Wilson said that a husband can demand his wife lose weight. Well Dougy., Time to go on a diet. LOL

The red dress illustration is silly. I wouldn't imply that a husband exercising authority over his wife's clothing choices will always lead to abuse though. My wife submits to me regarding certain clothing choices as regards modesty. I likewise love her by doing things she alone has a conviction over. We've been happily married for almost a decade. We've periodically expressed the struggle of loving and submitting in this issues, and we've adjusted things at times, but overall it's brought us closer together and ultimately closer to Christ.

Can someone please explain Joel Webbon's ridiculous "accent"? He's from Texas and yet he's got this fake quasi-British(?) accent that I'm assuming he thinks makes him sound more studious.

Just to be clear, James White has always spoken against Christian Nationalism and Stephen Wolfe specifically. He has consistently said that though he is now a Post Millenialist, he does not support Christian Nationalism.

Doug is such a hypocrite- watch any of Nancy’s lectures and you will see how much agency she has.. 😮. He loves his sassy daughters though (who sadly don’t fully understand what they are promoting because they don’t have that experience in their homes).

Why does any legit Christian follow Wilson, Webbon et al? Men looking for followers is what they are with their prized ideologies spewing from their mouths and keyboards. Have never known a truly mature believer that closely follows any person outside of Christ.
