Would you like to compare this to my Audi hours two with 167,000 miles on the clock?
ОтветитьHi!
Before I watch the film, I trully hope that at least you will not tell me that this car has nothing to do with the 80 and how it was only made great by Porsche because it was built in their factories with their knowhow ( like Porche had anything else to do at that time ) and how Audi didn't have any expertise, at the time, on how to build fast cars ( like they haven't won any wrc titles prior to rs2 release ).
Thank you!
"A V8 engine Ferrari wasn't making that much torque until the F430" Because torque is an overrated number that doesn't say anything about the performance of a car 😴 I drove a F430 before, and it would murder any Audi from that time
Ответить1st time I see a guy driving in my area on YT.
Ответитьcould have mentioned - the turbo added is the same as in the Porsche 911 turbo of the day ...
ОтветитьI disagree. The coolest Audi ever was and is the group B Audi Quattro S1 and that is a waggon, there's nothing cool about waggons.
ОтветитьS2 slightly hot??? 220 and/or 230bhp thirty years ago with a 6.2sec 0-60 time! Come oooonnnnn the S2 was a real down low sleeper!!!!
Ответить355 HP wasn't crazy in 95? Dude.
ОтветитьDoug Demuro owns one of these. Same exact color etc. Very cool. 300+ HP is amazing for a car at that age. Nice.🔥🔥♥♥😎
ОтветитьThey've got a red Audi S2 which would be a cool throw back to one of the fastest coupes of yesteryear. Ur quattro's descendant with more power, comfort, refinement etc... Just not THE quattro when in comparison
ОтветитьThis is great - it's awesome that these cars don't have to stay quiet in a museum or collection and can be enjoyed (even from afar) and shared. Good on Audi and others for allowing their prized vehicles (artifacts?) out every once in a while!
ОтветитьNICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😁
ОтветитьI owned an Audi Coupe and an Audi 90 Quattro 20v back in the days, and I still miss those cars.
Ответитьhad a chance to buy one of these in 2004 for £8500, low miles and FSH. Sadly needed a long distance commuter vehicle instead so got a Passat TDI est (which I've still got!). Only one of them would appreciated in value ... doh!
ОтветитьI’ve been watching a few RS2 videos back to back and found Doug Demuro doing a terrible impression of you in his I bought an RS2 vid. 🤣
ОтветитьWhen I was 10 I saw a brand new one of these... In this colour. I had no idea at the time just how rare they were but even at that young age I knew this was no ordinary estate... The subtle 'Porsche' on the badge caught my attention. I would love one of these today but an example like this might be north of 80k if you can find one.
ОтветитьLovely, I had a red 94 S2 ABY coupe 10 or so years ago after wanting one for years. I believe is shared a downtuned RS2 lump. Great Q car factor. 230bhp standard and an ECU chip brought it up to 270. Sold it a few years later for a third of what they're worth now. Sounded beautiful on song. Still appears to be on the road somewhere. One of my favourite cars I owned and still miss it. There's some mental power 500+ S2s in Europe.
ОтветитьFun fact: in 1994 it was faster and 2 of Ferrari’s flagship vehicles
Ответитьbeautiful car
ОтветитьBeen enjoying your fantastic reviews for a few months now. Very much enjoyed this one. I remember reading about this car when it first came out in my monthly subscription of 'Performance Car' magazine; those were the days. I was 14 when this car came out and I remember thinking it was one of the most exciting and special cars at the time; an Audi that was seriously fast and a supercar killer in many regards. Thanks for the reviews on all the interesting cars. I would say thanks for the hard work but, I imagine it's more fun than it is work 😉
ОтветитьLoving the blue on the inside and the outside. 💙
Fun fact: my dad's old Fiat Uno (the only car he ever bought new) used to be in a very similar shade of blue. 😁
Driving Miss Daisy in an Audi RS2
ОтветитьHad my URQ 20v with BRM/Superchips upgrade to 286 bhp with increased lower down torque from 1700rpm. Took RS2 for drive at local dealer to see difference. Not impressed. It was iconic on launch when I saw it in Audi dealer in Harrogate but driving it...hmmm. The steering is like a boat (I had an 80 Competition V6 and was the same), plus the same Abt white dials. But that 6 speed gearbox and bigger turbo - what hard work, As mentioned, mine pulls from 1700 rpm like a truck esp in 2nd and third but that 6 speed, you have to get it up to 3k rpm and then keep changing. Plus 1st is useless, like the Quattro. The RS4 B5 I subsequently had was far better - sequential turbos, good torque and far better handling.
ОтветитьI know we are not talking about the same thing here ,but my 92 S4 turbo Quattro, it's an amazing car,it handles so beautiful
ОтветитьImagine risking someone drive that car with that mileage for a review. That car is worth £££££££
ОтветитьI loved the S2 Coupe of this generation. Awesome. Test that if you can.
ОтветитьSo Jay, you asked what else we'd like to see reviewed......well it's not a performance car but it's an Audi. The A2 , yes the 1.4 tdi. Unique little car, better than an A Class of same vintage (I've owned both - liked both but preferred the A2) and yet they killed it off. Some excuse about production costs...yea?! Once the template is there surely the more produced the better....but then they charged too much for it really, based on the Aluminium Spaceframe they said it commanded a premium. Anyhow, leave it with you and your good relationship with Audi UK ( The A8 also, but not the late ones, pre 2006)
ОтветитьYou're totally correct in your comments - awesome car, understated, 0-60 pretty quick but torque is fantastic and that's where it scores. Handling takes but if getting used to, partially because brakes do let it down even though they're the so-called big reds from Porsche. Smiles per mile? Million!! I had one of these, this colour and just under 90k miles on it back in 2006-10. Regrets? Selling it!
ОтветитьDoug Demuro brought me here.
Ответитьgreat video JM. bravo
ОтветитьNot sure if you pay attention to American auto creators, but Doug Demurro bought one of these after watching your video.
Ответитьdoug bought this one
ОтветитьWe have a green one of these with about 29k. Been off the road about 23 years; one day we will get it back on the road.
ОтветитьWho got this from watching Dougs video 😂
ОтветитьWho else got the video in their recommendation after watching Doug's?
ОтветитьSo, Doug Demuro has just bought one...
ОтветитьJames, that's my regular driving Road, up until 3 weeks ago I had a Nogaro Blue Audi S8, now replaced with a new M760li. I love driving around there.
ОтветитьQue sorte....quero um para o natal
ОтветитьYou need to try a Audi S4 C4 2.2t!
ОтветитьThe s2 wasnt just a cupe version of the 80, it came in sedan, cupe and wagon
Ответитьprobably the most reliable Audi in the modern world. probably wouldn't buy anything later then 1994 in Audi.
ОтветитьInteresting RS2 fact, this car was faster than a Mclaren F1 to 0-30mph in 1.5 seconds.
ОтветитьAnother great review, I am a massive fan of older cars and your vids are fantastic. Keep up the good work !
ОтветитьI drove a 330i for a week with 250/ 295 lbs and it felt plenty fast
ОтветитьYou should had ask Audi heritage to review an Audi 80 S2 before this RS2.
ОтветитьYour story about those original Dunlop is not accurate.
Your story about involvement of Porsche in a manufacturing of the RS2 is not accurate.
Your story about base S2 Avant choice instead of the coupé or the Sedan is not accurate.
The story of these 3 facts are bravely much more crisp,
that's why you can't enjoy it properly, cheers
This car in this color with that interior and that engine is just incredible
